Better Reset

I think you should be able to reset a car facing the direction you are facing so that maneuvering the car will be mush easier. You should be able to do this with either the Insert key or Ctrl + R.

What do you guys think?

 

+1 Agreed. I hate going around the map to reset my car and then having to trun it around everytime.

 

Totally agree. However, this is a well known issue and at one point the devs polled the community on what they wanted
to see fixed. This issue was one of them and appallingly it came in 4th or something.

This is a complicated issue with Torque I believe and is not something that can be fixed overnight.

 

This, like many suggestions that people regularly ask over and over, is on the todo list for the devs.

 

Yes but unlike other requests this one isn't the unsatisfactory of missing a feature, this complicates and gets in the way of the gameplay.

And to an extent it is actually annoying.


I can live without airbags, seatbelts, eye candy car keys, ect. [personally these things don't matter to me and I prefer no airbags]

But when something literally takes up to 5-10 min out of an hour of driving pleasure that is an issue.


Now trust me when I say I understand the devs are constantly bombarded with suggestions and requested features to be added but for me this one takes the cake over basically anything else.

 

I think they are half way there as you can spawn a car at any rotation for a scenario, so I guess it wont be long until they can make it get the rotation you are at when you hit the reset button and use it to spawn you at that angle.

Though I can see this having funny results if you reset your vehicle while up side down. Would need additional stuff to make sure you spawn the right way up. Much confusion's.

Maybe in dream land, when you reset the car it could go into rotation mode and you could steer left or right to rotate on the spot, then hit the gas and rotation mode stops and you can drive off. I know after a crash I'm not always pointing the way I want to go, so this could be one solution.

 

They are likly gonna set only the Z axis to the rotation, x/y won't be needed so that way your car will only spawn right side up.

 

I know this has probably been asked for many times but I am new here and the more suggested things are the more likely they are to get done. If one or two people ask for this then it will be bat the back of the to do list. Therefore it will probably not get done for a while. If a hundred people ask for it it is more than likely going to be the next thing done. I understand though!
