There isn't a threadripper for the ryzen 5000 series yet, but my 5950x does have 16 cores and 32 threads, which is lovely --- Post updated --- they install exactly like an intel cpu haha
I'll get the cpu later but like I said I'm Upgrading it so I will see the performance on the other pc and go from there
I have a Nvidia GTX 1060 6GB, which works quite well. You can get them on eBay for around £130. I get about 40-50 fps on normal settings with reflections on low resolution. However, I would recommend getting a GTX 1080 or 1080Ti because it will give you much better performance while still within your budget. They are available on eBay for £300 - £450. If you want a middle ground, look at these cards: RTX 2060 - has raytracing, but is not quite as good as the 1080Ti. (performance comparison) However, this card is pretty bad value if you don't care about raytracing, because it can be had for £300 - £500. Not any cheaper than the 1080Ti. GTX 1070 - better than the 1060 but not as good as the 1080. (performance comparison) About £200 - £350. --- Post updated --- Yeah this would work, but a 1070 can be had for around the same price and also give significantly better performance.
Go for a gtx 1650 Pretty cheap, not that hard to find and is good enough to run beamng I use an i5 + 8gb ram + 1650 Beamng with shaders, works at 50-60 fps unless I use multiple big ass trucks
Unfortunately one can not simply get a card for its MSRP now, I had to pay 850$ for RTX 2060 recently.
I read that the 40 series will launch at the end of next year to keep up with AMD's offerings then supposedly. I used most of my money far a 3080 to get a newer CPU/mb/ram. I am impatient. 2060 is pretty good, you will see the dlss benefits where they are in use over the 10 series for sure.
Everything is overpriced right now! I searched 'rtx 3080' on ebay and everything was $1,000+ Its crazy!
A 1650 and you're setting the bar at $250? If I sell my 560 at any more than 100 I'd feel like I'm ripping someone off, which is pretty comparable to a 1650. What have happened to GPU prices, and especially people's expectations of what's a decent price? OT: my 560 (technically a 460 2gb, but running a modified bios that unlocks the shader cores, effectively turning it in to a 560) runs beam at 30+ fps on high on just about every map. I spend a lot of time on gridmap, where I can easily run 60fps on ultra (with some dynamic reflections). 1080p.
BeamNG is more CPU intensive than GPU. Before I upgraded, I was running the game totally fine at 60fps with maxed graphics on a GTX 770 paired with a 4670k@4.4GHz. NGL chief, your specs are kinda ass - I'd think about investing in a newer and better CPU+mobo before thinking about GPU, since they're going for about 2x MSRP right now anyway. Good news is that they're on the way down. You can build everything else slowly since you're on a budget and get yourself an older card from the 6xx-7xx series for like $100-200USD in the meantime, since they'll still absolutely rip on integrated graphics. +1 for GTX 1650 for a long-term solution though.
CPU matters a lot for having more jbeams. The i9-10850k at stock clock with intel turbo boost off has all 10 core 20 threads locked to 3.6ghz gave a beam score of high 300s. With it enabled allowing up to 5.1ghz stock speeds it was in the 500s. Interestingly they both capped the car count to 20. For me CPU did not matter on my i7700k as long as I was not playing with other cars/traffic/races. Remember it struggling to get 5 to 8 cars, forget exactly. I don't know much about AMD CPUs but suspect the same thing for those. As far as resolution and geometry the GPU is pushing around you can lower the detail but those cars use CPU to compute physics from what I seen. Resolution and detail level your GPU comes into play. Not sure about memory use, never paid attention, think most people have 16 gigs ram on average. Also not sure about how much the GPU ram matters. Would think that would just be a limiting factor on texture quality though.
I'm gonna check what CPU is on the HP (I'm still on the Lenovo) to see if it needs upgrades. Also the Lenovo Doesn't even fit a 2 fan GPU it can only use a Low-Profile one which is why I am Upgrading to a PC (It's Not a Gaming Pc) that's a HP Z40p workstation XEON --- Post updated --- yes automationcarmak they are overpriced, I play Automation, American Truck Sim , City Car Driving , And minecraft (sometimes) and they all run slow and i keep them at THE LOWEST GRAPHICS. Plus City Car Driving doesn't even load freeplay. It just crashes
I am Getting a Gaming Pc: Skytech Gaming Desktop Chronos Ryzen 7 3rd Gen 3700X (3.60 GHz) 16 GB DDR4 1 TB Gen4 SSD NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2070 SUPER Windows 10 Home 64-bit --- Post updated --- This Thread is dead
Is your Thinkcentre full width or small form factor? Looks like it came in two versions. If it's the smaller one then you are severely limited in terms of GPU compatibility, owing to the lack of physical height to install the card. You may also find that installing a dedicated GPU may stretch the power requirements from the PSU out of spec, which may be the case for either machine. That assumes the PSU even has a PCIe supplemental power connector to begin with. OEM systems can be a pain to upgrade with off the shelf parts. You often need to upgrade a bunch of other things to make the part work, and by then you may as well have bought a new machine. EDIT > Just saw your last post. Disregard the above then. That's a decent setup for BeamNG for sure.
