Beginning to skins

I want to learn and make skins to cars, where do I start? Also is Photoshop okay for that (I can try another program though)?

paint.net, notepad++ is great for skinning

 

Photoshop is a great tool to make skins. You should also get notepad++. If you want to start, please check the skin creation megapage over at the wiki

 

I can barely see the car's profile in paint.net, any tips?
