    CHRISTMAS 2016 MOBILE EDIT: God knows last time this post was edited! I'll start keeping a running log. Yes this thread is old, yes the first couple pages are totally off topic, yes it is still off topic, and yes it's not formal at all! Slightly original post below.

    Welcome to BeamNG's F@H thread! This thread tends to turn into a chatroom, but feel free to ask questions and join in! You also do not need to be part of our team to post here, it's just a folding community area.

    If you are interested in starting folding you can start over at Stanford's website or jump right in.
    Stanford has a video explaining folding;

    Basically, Folding@Home is a program used by Stanford University to give small parts of scientific work to computers around the world to create a network with the power of a supercomputer. The BeamNG team is here partially to get together and do good, and partially to beat other teams and get more points. Have fun!

    40-60 is ok. 60 is on the warmish side, the temperature of a hot shower. Things tend to go wrong about 100, to 120. so I wouldn't worry unless you start entering the 80 degree range.

    Don't know. My current laptop has an i7, and a GT 230M. I have a desktop with a Phenom II x6, and a HD5870. I don't even know how they will fare up. Proper specifications haven't been released.

    I've done a little folding over the past 3 years. Currently folding for the RoR team with a grand total of a bit over 320000.

    Well, I fold for Cancer. I myself had Hodgkin's Lymphoma. (If you can bear to google it, do so.) I don't want anyone else to have to go through that. But I know many still will. So, I fold in hope that one day we can defeat this. Got an assortment of hardware I use (Speaking of which, better update my sig). Athlon II X2, an i5-3317u, 2500K, 3770K, 7950, 5850, and some other stuff. Had my clients down for a bit and been meaning to get back into it. Going to do that tonight. Currently folding for the RoR team. Cheers all and have a good one. ;)

    I've been over at the ror forums, let them know that the 1 wu I got done was the only one. Sorry. :\ And this is 100% off topic, but when I joined the ror forums, you had a female avvy. And even if you name had been sir Gerald the third I would have though of you as a female. I assume you aren't now but without conscious though my brain make assumptions.

    Should I ask google what Folding is before I ask here, or will someone elaborate for me? ;)

    A project that sends work units to computers around the world to find a cause for cancer, Parkinson's etc. Google will do better.
