This is an opining I see regularly from devotees of other games. Of course they can never tell you WHAT sucks in clear, scientific, numerical terms. When pressed they cite no examples of cars in-game whose performance is implausible (for good or bad) in acceleration, skidpad G, or braking compared to similar types in the real world. But, there is a chance that BeamNG leaves itself vulnerable to the charge because the FFB doesn't communicate car behavior quite as well to the average user as say AC, and/or the FB and vehicles themselves require a little (or a lot) of fine tuning by the players themselves to get the best. I don't know, what do you guys think?
I think, as you mention, most of the reason these opinions pop up is that its not necessarily the tire model but how it is percieved. The FFB is the number one communication to the player but also things like camera behaviour, motion blur is used to help players think something is a certain way. The FFB in the oh so popular AC has been described as fake but i dont know if thats true, i dont play AC anymore. However it (AC ffb) does seem to be more of how players think it should be rather than what it actually is, and therefore it is percieved as good. FFB is always fake, for example you dont get g-forces through a steering wheel anyhow so you might aswell fake it even more to make players belive theyre feeling the right thing. Just my quick thoughts.
