Hello everyone, very happy to show you my latest film which is/was a very new concept and technical challenge for me AND BeamNG.Drive as a software.

    The story:
A Tsunami of cars engulfs a city, propelled by a mysterious force that makes the unimaginable possible. Within the world of BeamNG.Drive, a flood disaster of epic proportions unfolds. At the heart of the unbelievable, two heroes race against time to revert the flood of cars.

Will they manage to stem the flood, or will the city be buried under countless tires? Every second counts, and the fate of numerous innocent people hangs in the balance.

    Quick note

This took me roughly 6 weeks from start to finish and it was a sort of exorcism that me and my PC had to go through. It wasn't fun. But it was worth it.

I also noticed that there are certain limitations to the software, regardless of the hardware. In the end it's all lines of code and having hundreds of cars or objects in a scene isn't really ideal as the program seems to crash after a certain amount of cars - regardless of slow motion or not. There's just a limit and that's totally fair.

But, this film really shows the remarkable engine that is behind BeamNG.Drive, and what is possible, and I hope you will enjoy seeing this.

I Saw that in my recommendation , and couldn't beleive what my eyes were seeing : both the quality , and the Idea.

It's like all your movie, it's incredible, Hollywood would spend millions of dollars doing this , and you just used 30 dollars to Do.....this this piece of art resumed with Chaos (i Hope you understand it)

Also , how was your PC during the filming ? Was it doing as much smoke as a Thermic plant ?

Hey thank you! My PC was doing pretty okay actually. I noticed that the PC isn't really the bottleneck, it's the software (as it's never been coded for that amount of cars - I assume? ). First of all, only 32 GB out of 64GB were utilized, which was a bummer. I tried to change that but had no luck. Second, after a certain amount of cars BeamNG really started to become unstable, even in x0.2 slow motion. It is randomly overvalueing car damage of certain cars which make them explode in such a way, that all surrounding cars explode as well, and within a second the simulation pauses / the game crashes and has to be reset. And at a certain amount (roughly 240 cars) there started to be a glitching bug / stuttering bug in a certain repeating rhythm that was irreversible and required a restart of the game. Other than that though, the software really worked as intended (or .. more like, as never intended by the devs but it still worked flawlessly) and I couldn't be happier with BeamNG and the INSANE physics alghorithm behind the game as whole.

It's really an amazing simulator, the best out there, and my love for Beam just got bigger through this film.

Hi! first of all i wanna say you did an amazing job in making this movie. The quality and story was incredible, it really got me hooked in. I do have some questions on the movie if you don't mind it.

    1. How did you make the tsunami of cars go in the direction you wanted?
    2. Did you had to place each vehicle individually for the shots?

Again, i want to say you made one of the coolest movies using the beamng engine,it really showed how much it can be pushed to his limits! i am happy and eager to understand how it was the behind the scenes of this incredible movie.

    Cheers

This is a really good movie actually, watched all of it. Italy looks modified, I'm loving the breaking objects, and the variety of cars is nice to see.

I admire your patience! Did you do the level customization all on your own? You used it already in the train movie. It looks fabulous! Thanks for your work.

Hello! Thanks! I made the tsunami going in the preferred direction via "invisible" slides that I built and that had very little friction. I had to place each tsunami car individually on top of that slide so to speak, however, once I created the tsunami cars, I was able to save those cars in the items.level file of Italy, which was really useful as then they were always here upon starting the map.

    Hello!
Yes, I customized the level myself. That's part of the reason I'm so fond of Italy – it's an incredibly flexible map with a wealth of assets that can be rearranged using the world editor. Building new platforms and other structures is relatively straightforward since the assets come with the map, eliminating the need for imports from elsewhere. The sole exception is the "Garage/Warehouse" at the start; that piece is actually from the West Coast Movie Studios. Beyond that, all the assets I used were from the Italy map.

It’s truly just wonderful. Thanks for your work and imagination. But your train derailing movie is very stunning as well. I guess placing the viaduct with the rails was quite hard work.
