I installed Antergos on mine laptop with dualboot. Also it have wine, so I try to run BeamNG on it. Tested on Linux Antergos 17.8, with Gnome on Wayland. Video: 1 (potato) 2 What work: -CEF menu -sound -runs smooth -graphics but a bit glitched -steering -lua -physics Issues: -Only in fullscreen -Only on iGPU -Randomly crashes -Graphics glitches -Only default D15 -Only Small Grid Map, Pure -mouse problems -no graphics multithreading -cant use any screen recorder Edit 1: Many of these problems exist because Wine doesn't support DirectX 11 fully. Only partially. So in next versions of Wine we will have better compatibility. Probably DirectX 9 version of Beam works much better.
That's awesome news! The only thing preventing me from fully switching to Linux is BeamNG.Drive. A lot of the problems would be solved with BeamNG switching to Vulcan, I'd guess. But that'd require a lot of work on the game engine, so I don't see that happening in the near future. Hopefully the DX11 support will keep on improving.
