BeamNG.Drive's Apocalyptic, Abandoned, or Destroyed Maps

I love driving my favorite cars in Beamng Drive. Who doesn't? But I have a problem. I love cars from the 40s, 50s, 60s, 70s, 80s, all the way up to the 2000s! Why is this a problem you say? What relation does this have to the title of this forum? Well, you see the problem with this is that most of these cars don't coincide with each other due to time doing what it does best, moving on. And seeing all these cars at once looks very unrealistic in a normal state. But this all really depends on where you are. Now I've learned that if you take a scenario in which all my favorite cars are present, and, to put it simply, drop a bomb on it, I can create an apocalyptic look and feel which counteracts the abnormal variety the original state of the scenario creates.

I've sorted these maps into the categories you see above, here are some examples.

Apocalyptic
Example: Dead Coast-https://www.beamng.com/resources/dead-coast.11853/

Description: Locations like towns or cities which have suffered only a medium or small grade disaster(s), such as bombs, disease, minor warfare, or minor natural disasters (Tornados, fires, floods blizzards and hailstorms), but is still distinguishable from its former state. The main point of these isn't really what happened to it, it's more focused on what it looks like now.

Abandoned
Example: Sunset Island-https://www.beamng.com/resources/sunset-island.31387/

Description: An area or place in which nothing has been broken or destroyed, but still shows signs of abandonment. These are usually made more local, occurring in towns or long stretches of road. They have a sense that something happened here, but you don't know what.

Destroyed
Example: CrashGrounds-https://www.beamng.com/resources/crashgrounds.28976/

Description: A place where whatever happened, it happened bad. Causes would include major warfare, virus outbreaks, major natural disasters (Hurricanes, earthquakes, tsunamis, volcanic eruptions and cyclones), or nukes. Much like apocalyptic, they're more focused on what the place looks like now. But unlike apocalyptic, they have barely any similarity to what they used to look like.



Now I know what you may be thinking, "Greyscale, why is it that destroyed looks worse than apocalyptic? Why doesn't apocalyptic live up to its name? And if apocalyptic did live up to its name, wouldn't it look just like destroyed?" Well, I've made some sub-categories that may satisfy your need for answers, mostly because I can't figure out a way to explain them to you here without writing enough sentences for it to be a book.

Annihilated
Example: Wasteland-https://www.beamng.com/resources/wasteland.1756/

Description: Absolutely and completely obliterated. Major disaster(s) in a large area. This is what you'd get if you combined an apocalyptic map and a destroyed map.

Deserted
Example: Crash Hard Map-https://www.beamng.com/resources/crash-hard-map-final-version-maybe.325/

Description: Like abandoned, it is land deprived of people (or in this case, cars) but still contains damage throughout. It's a cross between abandoned and destroyed. It's just a place you couldn't imagine that it once looked in good condition.



(Maybe I'll make a category for a cross between an apocalyptic map and an abandoned map someday, but not today.)



So to summarize it up, put any Apocalyptic, Abandoned, or Destroyed maps you have or can think of in the comments!
If you want, categorize the map you put yourself. It might start some discussions though.

I have an apocalyptic map! its called ANECUSA (A new east coast usa) its based off of a mutated deer disease that makes humans go crazy which caused the downfall of the world. And it's set in the year 2040 or so. There's also A WHOLE google document dedicated to the lore of the map.

Surprised you didn't put Atlanto for abandoned, it still works to this day almost flawlessly, and it feels properly abandoned, like people were once living happily there fairly recently, but a year or two ago, they just up and left... Plus, there are some cool features and hidden secrets there too!

 

It does work flawlessly, but the map textures are outdated.
