Go ahead and post some ideas for the V3 tech demo here I have an idea. Either: 1) Add the Gavril D series back in, or 2) add a smaller, faster car. How about the super-stock, bare bones Sunburst? Its a nice 4 door family car that's moderately fast and crashes well. Any more ideas? I'd like to hear them
I like it as it is, a simple car and a crash map is everything you really need for a demo of bng. The lesser stuff the demo has, the more you want to buy the 'full' version
I agree; all it really needs is an update to the latest version as the physics feel totally different. No new content.
agreed as well but add the d series and a simple scenario this way you get a taste of what the game has to offer
I agree with most of the responses. An updates to keep up with, well, the tech are necessary. The D-series is a good vehicle for the demo because it's easy to control and generally well-rounded. A scenario or even a very small campaign (like 1/3 the size of the current ones in the beta) would be nice. A number of large brand games include something like this, a mission with a limited free roam option.
all the techdemo needs is a physics update. and even that might not be necessary since you cant crash into other cars anyways (so the difference should be small). remember that the demo is not supposed to show the whole game - it is there so you can have a quick go at the game and maybe find out if your hardware can run it. there are more than enough videos on youtube so people can easily find out what you can do in beamng and what not.
The next tech demo should be released on steam. Gamers really appreciate games that have demos on steam and having a readily available demo on steam would go a long way to driving purchases.
In terms of content the demo should have maybe a small map like the industrial island or just the grid map. The covet and maybe the 200BX/Sunburst Sport AWD its fine. He means the public free demo that is given for free in the website. Its quite outdated by now.
Replace the covet with the sunburst or bolide. It's hard to feature the realistic crash physics in a civic that can't go fast enough to dent the bumper.
The one question that really worried me while I was using the techdemo was "Is this an accurate representation of how my computer will perform with the full game?" I had examined the forums while I was using the techdemo, and the general consensus seemed to be that a greater strain was put on computers whenever more than one vehicle collided, and that certain vehicles were more CPU-intensive than others. With only one Covet crashing on my screen, I was worried that any two-car collision in the full game would result in my computer crashing. Kind of irrational given that my laptop met the tech specs, but I was still in the dark about how it would perform. I'd like to suggest that future versions of the techdemo feature the ability to spawn more than one car at once. A limit may be necessary. Of course, the current techdemo makes it hard to experience at least two important selling points of Beamng.drive - Customizability and authentic driving dynamics. With only one unmodifiable vehicle, techdemo users have little to no idea if other vehicles will handle differently. With over twenty different vehicles currently in-game So I'd like to suggest that one or two alternate configurations of the Covet be added to the techdemo in order to allow users to experiment with swapping parts and driving modified vehicles. In addition to the Covet, a single configuration of a larger, heavier vehicle like the D-series, Roamer, or H-series could be added to further demonstrate that each vehicle possesses unique handling and deformation characteristics. Both vehicles would come with a limited number of custom parts, the second vehicle featuring a smaller amount. Garage, Campaign, and Scenario modes would remain disabled in the techdemo, with freeroam in only Gridmap (and possibly Grid_Small_Pure) being the only play mode.
What about the ability to spawn two cars (Just two and no more) with the D-series and maybe a sport Pessima or Sunburst so the user can see how his/her computer would handle two cars.
What about having unlimited spawnable cars for the sake testing performace, but they can't be driven and have no AI? Performace testing should really be the main point of the tech demo!
2 years ago @tdev said that they hate stuff like this. Source: https://www.beamng.com/threads/russ...ree-beam-ng-download.10010/page-2#post-188645
A time limit makes no sense, there's no reason at all to implement it, and it would easily be bypassed anyways.
