We have a general discussion thread but that's about any topic. This is a topic for BeamNG discussion. Think of it like General discussion but for BeamNG only ;)

Talking about nothing, slightly related to BeamNG and get post count!
    jk

Sadly I'd love to talk about thew new update but it crashes my game, i took the "content" folder and stuffed it into my old ver so that i get at least some of the new stuff.
Awesome, the new engines and vehicle setups are awesome! Love the Crown vic-like engine bay of the GM. Also as slow as JRI runs for me, the map is very awesome, i just tend to stick to lower locations as the lower i go the higher the FPS are. Looking forward to a version which i can run.

Im enjoying the new update. A few things are derpy for me, such as a floating windshield for the covet and H Series, and not being able to see out of the windows of the covet in first person view. But im glad that the game finally got released on steam, as well as the new objectives in the game.

I'm really digging the window reflections and they are pretty damn smart too, they reflect mod maps like they were official so far. Overall
I'm impressed more on this update than any other since PRU. Maybe the devs are still trying to tackle the 64 bit flu.

For me it's the inability to change the settings and the clunky menus that prevent this update to be not only good but great. I honesty don't get why there must be so many changes to the UI. I mean it worked well and looked good a couple builds ago :/ In my opinion it was even better. I don't like that we have to scroll so much thorough a laggy menu.

But the scenarios really transform this simulation into a game. I like that a lot! Can't wait until the AI gets smart enough and we can have legit races :) I also love the fact that the vehicle selection screen is filtered. But I liked the old color selector better. Again too many clicks and scrolls through clunky menus.

I hope feedback is welcomed and not seen as an insult :)

UI making went through a lot of processes. Planning is fundamental in this thing. The previous UI were what you would call 'early mockups'. With all the updates it's slowly getting to what was planned initially. But hearing feedbacks on the UI, on what people don't like it about it and what it can be done to improve it is a good thing. Will make the UI team know what aspects of the UI need to be improved. Also, it's laggy because it's running at 25FPS at the moment (for the cinematic feel, or stability reasons). I'm quite sure it will change in the future, or something will be done to improve it's fluidity :)

I think that this is the best update yet.
I've been playing around in the scenarios trying to beat my best times foe about 6 hours now, and it doesn't get boring.
And so far there's only one bug that I've found.
You can change your car in the scenarios.

I also really love Jungle Rock Island.
It just so deifferent from any other level.

Yeah, I understand that you must experiment with different things to be able to find the perfect balance. :) But 25 fps for a "cinematic feeling" is pretty absurd :p Hopefully temporary.

Really like the new update, never had any of the issues that others do either. Performance is about the same as before and overall its just a much more polished game. The UI is also really functional and again I don't have any issues with it.

I don't like it neither, but there was some stability reasons behind that. Hopefully we will get some silky smooth 60FPS UI at some point, it would be a shame for those animation if it doesn't :p

For me it's multiplayer > UI imo.

The scenarios seem relatively easy to build from a development standpoint compared to cars or maps. It might be good to put out more when the community starts getting antsy for content if cars or maps aren't done.

The new glass textures are awesome, the normal maps really make it.

Does increasing the Fog Slider lower down the BeamNG draw distance? ; or did I fall into and out of the recent frames per second Hotfix and am seeing increased frame rate only because the game got better, not the fog changing render distance?

    ohhhhh yes.

Before multiplayer, before better sounds, before more cars, hell, even before campaigns,

I just want to run this game at a playable FPS. It's been nearly 3 years, PLEASE can we have some graphic optimization. It's very difficult to drive when your fps drops to 40 in the middle of a corner, and the stuttering needs remedy as well.

Either way, keep up the good work devs! Really like the game.

Eventually they'll figure out stuff and have a much more optimized engine. Campaigns and repository next week though! :D

I'm very excited to finally have scenarios to play around with in BeamNG, and I'm even more excited to see the repository and campaign in the near future. I don't have too many complaints about the UI, especially since there will be future improvements. I also absolutely love Jungle Rock Island.

I'm thinking of making a make/model/year list of desirable cars so modders can ignore it. I have slightly weird taste in cars, and don't forget about models quite as quickly as video game developers tend to, so the list might be a bit strange. Hint: Lamborghini Diablo, BMW 850CSi, Chevy Trailblazer SS
