It's been like this for as long as I can remember but no matter how much I search, I cannot find a post addressing this?
When you go from cruising and floor it, it takes a good few seconds before the transmission responds to the full throttle input... It feels quite unrealistic and is the only thing that irks me about BeamNG. I have made a video for you to see what I mean.
If you watch the pedal indicators you'll see that there's a lag of about 1-2 seconds before the transmission kicks down.

    Is this intentional?

Id say its definitely intentional on the Bluebuck, the automatic 'slushbox' transmissions back then where notoriously bad so it makes sense it would be appalling

Yeah, it's present on the Burnside too lmao. Never knew anything about slushboxes until just now. heard the word but never knew what it meant. maybe someone can find a video of a 60s cars accelerating when floored? it could show if this is accurate or not

I'd have a video for ya but the engine blew up before i could get anything meaningful, but with the Torqueflite on the Valiant, kickdown almost instant, though mine is only (a not so lowly however) a 225, so i could only imagine what the larger engines with Torqueflites would be like though its more than likely going to be the same. Now Fords on the other hand...

yes, this behavior is very much intended for these older cars.
