Hello fellow modding community greetings from Vienna, I am excited to share a new mod idea I have been working on that involves taking the 6x6 version of the Autobello Stambecco and converting it into an offroad/overland camper/RV. The design of this mod is inspired by similar off-road camper trucks from the ~1980s. My plan is to take the existing Stambecco 6x6 model, remove the rear body, and replace it with an independent camper upfit. The camper upfit will be a heavily modified version of the camper trailer, with a different shell but with kinda the same interior but I want to add more detail and better textures. I worked with Blender and UE4 before, but it's been a while and I never made a mod but I'm excited to work with Blender again. If you fellow modders have any useful info or tips and tricks to know before starting something like this anything is appreciated especially regarding BeamNG special stuff. And since I'm new to this, is there any copyright and stuff like that I have to look out for? I'm going to work probably 5-10h a week on this so I hope I can push out frequentish updates on how it's going. More detail and crappy brainstorming pictures smacked together in photoshop will come when I'm back at my workstation. Thank you in advance!
oops sry ill delete it, i cant figure out how to delete or set private and i cant find the rules where it says that.
Despite the fact that this kind of violates forum rules this is quite an interesting idea! To answer some of your questions, you need to look out for copyrighted models. (I.e campershells, wheels, lights etc.) this does however not mean you can’t use them, you just have to credit them at the end of the post afaik. Some tips from me would be to watch tutorials found on this site: https://documentation.beamng.com/index.html Try to read as much as possible on how nodes and beams work, as well as how to start jBeaming for the best modding experience. Mods can take time, be sure you’re wanna get trough, or else many tend to give up. I believe in you, go HeeHeeMan
This is why you read rules BEFORE creating a thread What counts as progress you ask? Probably already having the thing modelled would be good for a start. As you have some experience with Blender it shouldn't be too much of an issue.
At least 99% of all mods never reach the stage where the 3D model is finished. Most of the mods with a finished model never get finished in game either. So this just generates pointless hype for a project that has a 0.01% chance of completion. There's a reason why the most experienced modders only reveal their projects when they are almost done.
Hm. He was asking for tips & tricks though. Maybe provide some instead of saying that he’ll never even begin? --- Post updated --- What’s your discord? I know limitless personally.
