Hi, I have a small team asking me for local BeamNG modders, it's paid freelance work. I'm excited to make videos about the result, but won't be taking part because I'm back to making mods for my own videos. (I'll be making less money, but tbh I don't actually know how to code lol) Send me your examples of work in these fields- 1) They'll need someone who can make detailed scenarios, and that'll require someone proficient in lua. I've not tried to mess with scenarios before, so I'm not fully sure of what's required. 2) Someone to make UI apps, I've not messed with this before either, so show me your work, and I'll pass you on. I assume if you can do scenarios, then you can probably do this part too, so feel free to submit for multiple roles in the same message. 3) They will need someone to make AI driving stuff to fit the scenarios mentioned above. 4) They'll probably want someone for UI modification in the future (but they may go directly to BeamNG themselves if the project goes to that rout). If you want to talk to them, you'll need to know lua (to inject), JS/AngularJS, CSS, and HMTL If we can't find local people, then later I'll broaden it out to more. It's not my project, so I won't talk about what they're doing, it'll be up to them to give you details. And to the BeamNG devs; I've told them that you do consulting as BeamNG.tech, and that they should just go to you, but they seem shy to the idea for now (I wore them down a bit haha). They are aware that anything business in the future will need a commercial licence, and have experience with that aspect for other games. For now they just want to start small, and "off the radar" before going full-scale.
I'm not good at communicating, I hope I was clear, and didn't make it seem daunting. I've got no responses yet, you don't need to like me (I know I have personality issues), I'll just look at the work, and pass the details. If I still don't get responses, I'll make a new post for anyone around the world.
This is going to be the biggest hurdle with this project. I've looked at the AI code while working with the RLS team and it really is cooked. The AI rely on so much code that is depreciated or completely non-functional. Thus why so many scenarios with AI (including the career missions) are broken. (This is why the RLS team isn't prioritizing AI missions and is instead focused on more free roam stuff). Maybe with 0.35 the AI will get the much needed work it deserves, but from what I've seen, it's a total re-write job to get functional AI.
oh damn, I didn't realise AI was that old by now. I think that ai traffic can be put on the back burner for now then, there's other things that can be done. Or maybe just a fresh simple scripted sequence for the AI to follow would work for their needs.
The really funny part is, the AI navigate to waypoint system is probably the most buggy/relies on the most depreciated features (don't ask me how I know)
