When playing Assetto Corsa it crashes my PC so badly my monitor loses signal and it loops glitchy engine sounds and the only way to stop it is to hard reset by pushing the power button. No other games do this. Not msfs, BeamNG, Forza or American Truck Simulator.

    Sorry for the late reply.
    Processor Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-2600 CPU @ 3.40GHz 3.40 GHz
    Installed RAM 16.0 GB
System type 64-bit operating system, x64-based processor

    These are my specs.
The issue went away for a bit, but has recently resurfaced when using free cam, cinematic cam, or replays.

I need one more imformation. what gpu do you use? if you don't use gpu, that can cause problem.
And your cpu is old and weak a little but I think it's good enough to play assetto corsa.
Your problem may be caused by your cpu, but I'm not sure because I don't know your pc has gpu and what gpu you use.

Here’s what I think and some suggestions to address the issue:

    1. Overheating

Symptoms: The system overheats, causing crashes or shutdowns.

    Solutions:

Check Temperatures: Use tools like HWMonitor or MSI Afterburner to monitor CPU and GPU temperatures.

    • If the GPU exceeds 85°C or the CPU goes above 90°C, overheating is likely.

    Improve Cooling:

    • Clean dust from fans and reapply thermal paste.

    • Optimize airflow in the case.

Underclocking: Slightly reduce the clock speed of the GPU to lower heat output.

    2. Power Supply Issues

Symptoms: System crashes or shuts down under load due to insufficient or unstable power.

    Solutions:

Inspect the PSU: Ensure the power supply has enough capacity, typically 500–600W for this type of setup.

Check Power Connections: Ensure all power cables are securely connected to the GPU and motherboard.

    3. Driver Conflicts

Symptoms: Crashes or freezes, possibly with a blue screen, often specific to the game.

    Solutions:

Update Graphics Drivers: Install the latest drivers for the AMD Radeon RX 550.

Rollback Drivers: If the latest drivers are unstable, try using an earlier, more stable version.

Reinstall DirectX and Visual C++ Redistributables: This can fix potential software issues.

    4. Corrupted Game Files

Symptoms: Crashes occur in specific scenarios or maps.

    Solutions:

Verify Game Files: Use Steam’s “Verify Integrity of Game Files” feature.

Reinstall the Game: Uninstall and reinstall Assetto Corsa.

    5. Memory Issues

Symptoms: “Out of Memory” errors or freezing during gameplay.

    Solutions:

Check RAM: Use MemTest86 to check for faulty RAM modules.

Increase Page File Size: Adjust virtual memory settings in Windows to allocate more space.

    6. Game Settings

Symptoms: Crashes due to system overload from high settings.

    Solutions:

Lower Graphics Settings: Reduce texture quality, shaders, and resolution.

Enable FPS Cap: Use V-Sync or limit frame rates to reduce system strain.

    7. Software or OS Conflicts

Symptoms: Issues arise after a Windows update or with specific background programs.

    Solutions:

Update Windows: Ensure the operating system is fully updated.

Close Background Programs: Terminate unnecessary software running in the background.

If none of these steps resolve the issue, the problem might be hardware-related, requiring a replacement or professional repair.

(I can answer like that because I'm a computer expert:))

(P/S: its hard thing to right it down like that lol)
