did anyone practice any things in the game before a actuall driving test? it seems to help me a bit to learn parking and some other stuffs
Its kind of more difficult in some ways to park in BeamNG. You can't move your head around easily when using a wheel and the mirrors don't work the best, so it makes it very difficult to park. I suppose in BeamNG you would be less nervous because there are no repair fees or insurance bills so you can focus more on the car.
I didn't try parking a car in BeamNG, but yesterday I've actually tried reversing a car with a trailer for some distance & then parking it inside a garage for which I had to "bend" the trailer 90*. I used my controller for this as I don't own a wheel (sadly), so it was way easier to maneuver. I've only used the Driver cam & had it pointed backwards. Made the trailer enter a narrow garage entrance easily
well I use a g27 steering and parking is realy easy, I use my mouse to look around, but its way easyer in real life trust me (by experience)
I can't park in beamng, but I can park fine in real life. I wouldn't recommend it instead of practicing in a real car.
After practicing parking in BeamNG: Good amount of speed, yank handbrake, collect wheels and bits from the sidewalk
i find cars rocking back and forth due to oscillations caused by the wheels not being round and being unable to stop at extremely precise points due to wanting to roll and be on a flat point but ok sure
Beam started after I had my license, but I can say that my experience with driving a real car has allowed me to park in BeamNG quite naturally. Now, I will say that depth perception with respect to where the front of the car is, is a bit hard due to the lack of VR to provide binocular vision, but it otherwise works. Have yet to try parallel parking, although I suck that that in real life, so I don't have much faith in a game whereby my depth perception is hindered.
I really don't need parking practice because I don't back into my spots... I find parking pretty easy except for paralell parking.
Just know where your rear wheels are, you can ignore pretty much where rear bumper is, until you are really close to car behind, but that comes after you are 'in'. Most you care are rear wheels and front corner.
