Any Gear Locks Engine

Hi, I noticed that if you stall any car in 2nd gear and try to start it using the starter and won't let it (i.e - leaving it in gear with the breaks on while the starter tries, well... to start) will cause the engine to lock up and won't start ever again. Is this suppose to happen?
I have used Safe Mode with 0 mods to test it and it still happened. I'm using a controller without clutch assist btw.

 

Happens in every gear.

 

I see, but I still have a question. Why does it happen? And, is it suppose to happen?

 

You know, i think that it is a subject that never really has been talked about so.... What i think is that the starter burns out but instead it says that the engine locks. Maybe it will be a feature added in the next update to be able to jump start the car¯\_(ツ)_/¯

 

If so, then pushing the car in gear will start it which it doesn't

 

Well yeah, if the engine is not locked and you drop the clutch the engine will spin but you the have to press the start button but it does not actvate the starter. So i mean it does kinda work
