I was wondering if there is some way to redirect the path the game reads for mods. The default being C:/user/my documents/beamng.drive/mods. My C:/ drive is a dedicated bootup SSD and I would really prefer to keep it clean. BeamNG Drive and steam are installed on the same secondary hard drive.

Please let me know if there is some sort of work around, mods are one of the best parts of the game!

You can change the path in BeamNG.Drive\startup.ini. Just change UserPath to wherever you want the cache and other things to go.

You could create a symbolic link to another drive. I used this video for my BNG mods.

or just edit startup.ini like suggested above.

Did try symbolic linking and it worked fine, but I figured you might as well just use the relocation facilities the game provides.

Thanks for letting me know about this!
That did the trick! Although, I put the path where I stored all my mods, and BeamNG overwrote all of them to put its own folder system there... But it turned out ok because I had copies of all the mods somewhere else!
I remember using the symbolic link when the update first came out oh so long ago, but I nearly forgot about it.
What is really interesting is that my folder hierarchy does not follow the installation "guidelines" at all and it still works! I don;t know how regular this is, but it works so I'm not complaining.

NO NEED TO READ ON UNLESS YOU ARE CURIOUS

Normal instructions are to drop .zip files into the "mods" folder. Not exactly what I did. I originally created the folder "...SteamApps/common/BeamNG.Drive/content/mods" and dumped all my .zips in there hoping to reroute the userpath there. When I typed this route in the startup.ini, saved, and started the game, the game did a file integrity check but ran with no mods. Coming back to folders I see that the game created "...BeamNG.Drive/content/mods/mods" and every other folder besides the "vehicles" and "levels" folders seen in the picture. These are the exact same folders as are located in "My Documents/BeaNG.Drive." Dismayed at the fact the game deleted all the mods I downloaded, I rejoiced remembering copies of all the mods were in my recycling bin after previous unsuccessful attempts. These however were all unzipped folders of each vehicle and level in folders labeled "vehicles" and "levels" respectively. I dumped these in "...content/mods" (not "...content/mods/mods") as seen in the picture. Taking things one step at a time I tried launching the game and lo and behold, all the mods were there! I haven't tried all of them but what I did try worked, and mods I couldn't get to work before worked now (some mods did somehow work before I made this post).
Sorry to be long winded but maybe me sharing my experience will be useful to someone!
