Admittedly, I don't know quite how the AI works behind the scenes besides what's probably guessed just watching the debug things, although I do use AI in some way maybe 80% of the time I play BeamNG. But at-least for racing and things like that, I was wondering if this proposition makes any sense: In NR2003, in the track.ini file which controls all the settings for the map you're loaded into, there are these settings for the AI which control a few stats. (Taken from a YouTube video, I haven't played NR03 in years.) What I'm trying to focus on is "AI_Drafting_Distance", although there obviously a better name for it in this case like 'Minimum_Passing_Distance' or something along those lines. I was curious if something like that could be implemented into the AI menu, so kind-of tweak some 'Race' mode more specifically. This would maybe help with AI giving up on an overtake without even trying, or slamming onto the brakes before getting even 3 car-lengths behind another vehicle. It could also help with (For the probably few people really into it, although I am) weaving through traffic weather in a police chase or some street-racing situation. It could even be tweaked more so the car behind will simply pace the car in-front until there is an opportunity to pass. If something like this is already in the works, than that's awesome to know. I haven't been looking at the forums much for the last few years, just a random idea I had earlier and I thought about asking.
Thought I'd bump this earlier in the day, I'm insanely curious about an option like this and any thoughts on it.
