    Hello !

The map editor is very easy to use, It's cool, you have many stuff, and you can make a cool map just with it.

But, the hard part is to created a new map, you know, you need copy a Map, rename ALL the file, use Notepad++ and modificate many thing, It's pretty hard to do ! Again, it's pretty easy when you copy and rename Grid map, but when it's like ECA ...

My idea would be to simply in the Menu, to have a button "Created a new map" and when you click it, that would be created a new Blank terrain, and chose the size, the texture, the description ... And have all the Props from other map.

Just a little idea, I don't know if it would be doable or not...

What I do is use Notepad++ 'Find & Replace' function and let it change the name on the text files in the whole folder.

Editing with files is not very time consuming compared to making a new map itself though...

Making a map in Torque is sort of like learning to ride a bike, once learned you never forget. For me it's
all about repetition, I can't absorb every single point the first time, never will. Even after 2 years of this
repetition I still find myself making many mistakes but the process as a whole is much faster.

As for having a 'baked in' and foolproof starting map scheme, perhaps someone could construct that
but I seriously doubt the devs will devote the resources to it any time soon. It would take quite a bit of
code work and testing to get that to work and it wouldn't make any sense at this point to do it. Torque
is constantly changing unfortunately (or fortunately depending on how you look at it:cool:).
