    Hello people,

Just a few words regarding the recent drama, in order to explain what happened and (hopefully) be as transparent as possible.

Two users were recently banned for being caught inserting inappropriate content on their repository mods, in different forms.

One being an explicitly inappropriate picture hidden among the files of their mod (as part of an update to it). This is a straight violation of our Forum Rules and ToS, and therefore forum access was revoked immediately, and mod taken down.

The other was a niche reference to some deviated content. Being a reference, the user got a warning and a short ban (as it's still a violation of our Rules and ToS), as well the chance of having his mod re-approved if cleaned from that content. This eventually turned into his forum access being permanently revoked after showing no understanding for the gravity of their actions.

This kind of behavior is unacceptable by any means. Our repository is a place for people to share their mods for others to enjoy, but by no means to host deranged content.

    • Why were the mods approved in first place then?
      • We have a pre-approval process on the repository. This stage is meant for our repository moderator, to quickly check the mod for obvious problems, issues and make sure it does not contain game breaking issues. Additionally the authors are contacted and assisted so that they can address eventual issues, and their mods approved.

This is an extremely time-consuming process, yet we offer it so people can have their mods at the best of its shape when released.

What this process doesn't do is manually inspecting every single of those files, especially if a mod contains several hundreds of them. This is something that we currently cannot provide.

Nor we can be aware of all the niche references that are present on the internet, especially those that reference content of inappropriate nature.

We are thankful for the users that report these violating to us, without who we would have not been aware of what was happening.

More about the unacceptable behaviors are insults, attacks and death-threats (..) to our staff.
We are humans, not superheroes. We try our best to be as helpful and present as possible.
Having people jumping on a hate wagon barely knowing what is happening, or even worse, irrationally and violently defending those that clearly violated our Terms of Service and fueling drama is all but constructive, and may result in sanctions for you.

I want to remind that we are a relatively small team, and daily dedicate our time, effort and passion to our game and home that is the forum, but some things are bound to slip from our attention.
If you notice any of these things, please report these occurrence, for us to be dealt with.

I hope to have been as transparent as possible, and to have cleared most, if not any, doubts you might have had.

    Thank you
