After fiddling with the settings and options I have decided that I actually have no idea what I am doing so I'm going to swallow my pride and ask for some help. Basically, somehow I want to make a space-themed Skybox for my Asteroid map. An image such as the one below (or something similar) from NASA would be ideal. I've tried messing with creating a skybox but I have no idea where to even start with that and using ScatterSky doesn't really come close to what I'm trying to accomplish so, I'd much rather have an extravagant space image such as the one above instead of the current empty void that the map has now: Also, the other question is: How (if possible) can I add a custom song to play in the background of the map? While using the MenuMusic file with a SFXemitter is decent enough, I'd really rather have some classical "moon walking" music playing in the background but I have no idea how to add music. Other than these two hiccups the map is almost ready for Beta release. c: Thanks for y'alls help!
I believe skyboxes are broken again.....again. That being said if you can get a default starry night skybox and modify it in a paint program that might work? I'm done trying to get skyboxes working.
Awww man are really skyboxes broken again? I will desperatelly need them soon. How am I supposed to finish my evening map when basic sunsets in Beamng look ugly and dark, and sun becomes soo tiny? Pic showing tiny Red Dwarf on horizon of some cold alien planet. I've already tried a trick enlarging sun 20 times, and setting fog to orange color to make it look like real sunset. From this side it looks good. And here illusion is destroyed. Without working skyboxes I can't make smooth gradient skybox consisting of orange-blue-violet color palette. Let me show this 360 degress photo On left, where light comes from, orange dominates, while the middle (opposite of light source) consists of blue and violet. Players should have option to create their own skyboxes.
I do think a good atmospheric scatterer would be a nifty feature for Torque. However, it should be possible to create a skybox using large cubic or spherical static meshes. The only caveat is that camera clipping range may have to be increased to reach said skybox on larger maps, and the sky may be susceptible to fog. Oh, and the sun may not shine through. Though this might be solveable by way of some LUA magic.
