The Beast From The East L O R EThe Brand: Nishino Motor Corporation (ニシノ自動車株式会社) had a rocky start in the early 20th century, formed by a group of Japanese buisnessmen and producing a handfull of models, mostly copied from overseas models. The early 30s saw the company almost go under, luckily Japanese entrepreneur Takeo Nishino was able to reform and save the company, at which point the name was changed to Nishino Motor Corporation. Much like Mikawa, The company went under a hiatus as a result of the war and fallen ecomony, but luckily was able to make a comeback by the 50s procucing small, efficient and reliable vehicles for the local market. Following the fuel crisis of 73 global demand for fuel efficient vehicles was high and Nishino was able to deliver, and the rest is history The Car: The Sunrise is Nishino's midsize entry dating back to the 50s. While it may have had humble beginnings, the Sunrise has always been a motorsport legend, dominating local circuits of the 60s and 70s. Fast forward to 1989 and Nishino has just unveiled it's most potent beast yet, the Sunrise GS-R, marking a return of the feared nameplate after almost 20years. And boy was it a beast, a super high tech 2.6l twin turbo six, capable of over 600bhp in race trim, combined with an advanced AWD system and highly sophisticated chassis layout, made it an unstoppable force on the circuit, so much so that after years of countless victories, and ETK's most potent models being left in the dust, touring car regulations had to be altered to outlaw the GSR from touring cars and restore the egos of lesser manufacturers... In addition to being a fire breathing Japanese beast, there were more sensible trim levels, ranging from basic everyday sedans to fun and sporty coupes and even a wagon for hauling your goods in style and speed About the modSeeing as I can't seem to just focus on one project (and I have made some decent modeling progress for this in the past week or so) might as well make a thread for it as well I have always liked the idea of a lore friendly Skyline GT-R (which we almost had with the 90 Miramar, but that had a rather unfortunate fate) After messing about with creating wire designs in Blender, I figured why not try to model it, and things sorta took off from there. Now the basic exterior mesh is mostly complete, sans some smaller details, and today I have just started working on the chassis mesh The JBEAM will be 200BX based, with nessisary changes to make it suit the Sunrise. So far I have converted the drivetrain to utilise AWD (currently borrowed from the Sunburst), in the future I would ideally like to have a system that works much like ATESSA, with realtime electronically controlled power distribution to the front/rear. I have also adjusted the torque curve to match the engine the Sunrise will use The car will feature a unibody layout with double wishbone suspension front and rear. The drivetrain will be FR, with the sporty GS-R model recieving an AWD drivetrain Engines will consist of an inline 6 (SOHC EFI, DOHC and DOHC turbo), starting at 2litres, as well as a larger (about 2.5l) variant of that, and the GS-R will recieve a 2.6l twin turbo 6. The base model will likely recieve an inline 4 of about 1.8l Dimensions are 4550mm length, 1755mm width and a wheelbase of 2620mm (for the GS-R) Progress Progress Spreadsheet Q and A/FAQQ: When will it be released? A: When it is ready. Stay Tuned Q: What Bodystyles will it have? A: 2door coupe, 4door sedan, and a 4door wagon Q: Will it have a lot of tuning parts? A: That is the plan, this mod will lilkely have an insane amout of aftermarket mods, some of which will most likely be added after the initial release Q: Can I make mods of this? A: Yes, please feel free to create additional content for the Sunrise Q: Will it be a paid mod? A: No. Q: Will it be easy to drive in stock form? A: Unless your name is Nakazato, yes Q: Can it go fast? A: Yes, very Q: Will you change the name/accept name suggestions? A: Most lilkely not. Q: Why did you make a whole new brand, and not call it Hirochi or Ibishu? A: As I mentioned in the Avante thread, the same reasons apply to this, which I will copy to this thread if you haven't read already I had thought about this for some time (several years now lol), there are 2 main reasons. Firstly the word Ibishu has no meaning, i.e it is not even a word in Japanese (I would know as I am semi fluent). Basically Gabester make up a work that sounded somewhat Japanese without thinking about it that much, and this bothers me more than it should lol Almost all Japanese companies as old as Ibishu are either names after the surname of the company founder (such as is the case with Toyota, Mazda, Honda ect...), or some clever acronym such as Nissan (which is short for Nihon Sangyo). As far as I can tell Ibishu (and Hirochi) don't conform to either of these (Ibishu/Hirochi isn't a Japanese surname and there is no acronym to my knowledge), nor is there any in depth explanation into the reason for their name, so I have decided to use my own brands with more in depth, thought out lore for my lore friendly mods, at least only for Japanese vehicles The likes of Bruckell or Gavril are actual surnames and thus are plausible, so I will just use those as I have with the Hawk The second reason is that Ibishu is kind of a 'blanket' company that seems to make every vehicle from Hondas to Nissans and even the occasional Mazda as I have mentioned before in various thereads my lore friendly mods will take the GTA approach of parodying a generally specific (or maybe a combined few) IRL models. So yeah I basically want a brand that be kinda linked to a particular company with enough imagination. And so yeah, so while Mikawa will be my lore friendly brand for Toyota inspired vehicles, Nishino will focus on Nissan inspired models As for the mosel name I had thought about it for a bit, of course I wanted something simalar to Skyline, and Sunrise just has a nice ring to it (and also starts with S) so went with that Credits Me: Modeling/Texturing/Jbeam editing BeamNG: various assets (Models, Textures, Jbeam) Gallery
A lore-friendly R32? Yes please! Time to throw out the old classic question again - will this have an aftermarket V8, maybe as a special drift config?
Hi, this looks great but should clearly be called the Volvo Maxima TDI, I also think you should stop working on everything else except the coffin car as you clearly can only do one at once, Thank you.
Thanks Yeah there will be no factory V8, and if I ever do a V8 config it will be a swap using a Nishino V8 from another vehicle (that I will have to make first), but that is for another time Also can guarantee you within 0.69420seconds of releasing this someone will swap in a Bastion V8 so yeah first person to do so gets a png image of premium cheese as a reward True sorry time to cancel all mods and work solely on Volvo Maxima TDI coffinmobile but fo real appreciate your humour as always yeah non GS-R models will have a 'mask' style grille
Looks absolutely amazing! my one concern is though, you have quite a few projects already in the works (the Avante, Hawk, and sedan Claria), i'd hate for you to get sidetracked and for this (or the other few) to get canceled or put on hold. Overall I love this, keep up the amazing work!
Finally, a lore friendly Nissan Skyline GT-R! it's gonna look so cool I just can't wait to try when it comes out.
Should be called Ibishu Miramar IMO, there's no need to introduce a new brand. However, it's your decision, I'm just suggesting
