In this thread I will choose a vehicle to drive, and drive it 50k miles. I will post a new update about the car every 10k miles. and once we get to 50k miles, I will choose a new car. - Where We Went - What Went Wrong - What Went Right - And The Statistics. - Every 10k Miles. I got this Idea from car and driver's Long term testing. https://www.caranddriver.com/long-term-road-tests/ -Please DONT post anything unless you have questions or comments about the car we are testing- CAR: 1989 Ibishu SAGA - 2,480 Miles
is it going to be the same vehicle 'state' or will you have resets And if it is the same vehicle state, how are you going to refuel?
Good point, there is no way to refuel your car. I guess when I run outta gas, I'll get a new car and make it so it has the same damage as the old vehicle, and I'll right the mileage on a pad of paper.
messing with the fueltank.json file values for the capacity of the tank itself may be another option but i don't know if that changes the weight of the car or something
There is a mod for refuelling. I am afraid I dont quite see the point behind this exercise. BeamNG has no concept of wear and tear and as such any car (except prior damaged ones) are capable of an unlimited amount of miles. There are benefits to being nothing more than a bunch of digital zeros and ones after all.
Good point, You all have great point that I don't think about.. I guess There will be some fictional damage, like dead battery's and stuff.. But the mileage, 50K. will happen.
I mean, cars have suspension and frame modification over time and can affect drivability or comfort for example. I would do it for that.
Miles: 473 Introduction to... 1989 Ibishu SAGA All, good things come at a price. Or do they? That's what we are here to find out, As we take a 1989 Ibishu SAGA 1.8 XS-turbo for 50,000 miles. We grabbed a Manual, and a turbo To make this SAGA the most driver focused car yet. At 12,400$, The only option we have on this SAGA, is Leather brown interior at 400$. So far we've driven this SAGA 389 Miles all the way to MOAB the other 84 miles came with the car. So far there is no Damage to the SAGA and we hope it stays this way. The SAGA through these 300 or so miles has proved to be very fun to drive. we have no dislikes about this SAGA so far. WHERE? We will be starting off in Utah 0-60: 10.7 seconds ΒΌ: 17.0 seconds Price: $12,400 Mileage: 473 Miles Check back next time to see how this SAGA fares in the myths of UTAH U.S.A
I'd be interested, but only if the car was never reset. If the car was reset, even with the 'duplication of damages' heck - even using the save/load feature'd be a dealbreaker, I'd love to see what'd happen. Me, I'd hack the gas simulation away, and just put the car on GSP for a few weeks, then come back and see what's happened. Three weeks straight through at 100mph would get 50k immediately, but I'd also be interested in seeing the car work - ie it's parked at night (PC on!) and started every morning. --- Post updated --- The point is to see just how right you are...
I would like to know which you guys want to see.. Would you like to see fictional stuff, like the battery exploded and I had to buy a new one. Or would you like to see real stuff like the car drove for 40k miles and the engine overheated. OF these two, which type of environment would you like to see in the 42k miles left in the SAGA. If you choice fictional give a thumbs up if you choose real give a Agree Or just leave a comment below
Wasn't very well expressed by me, i meant i picked "real". One question tho, how do you know the mileage? i am stupid as always
There is a UI app, "Odometer" It works for me some people have trouble opening it though, Like I said before thought It works for me.
