This is a discussion for my 350 Cubic Inch diesel V8 mod. Please report bugs and issues here rather than in the reviews.

Picture this, The year is 1978, Bruckell Corporation is in shambles. The company is bleeding money because of the heavy tax due to heavy fuel economy and emissions regulations. Senior Motor engineer, John Bruckell developed a small block v8 diesel derived from the 378 V8. His creation was the 350 Econo-Jet V8 diesel. This engine ended up being highly unreliable and turned out to be a flop. The motor was not much more fuel-efficient, very unreliable, and had very little power. This engine made around 105 HP on a good day.

In case anyone is interested, the sounds are a mix of the ETK inline-6 diesel (engine) and V8 (exhaust)

    Known Issues:
The engine uses the stock Bruckell V8 model. I do not have a model for it.

    Changelog:

    v0.5- 7 Liter V8 modur
    v0.4- Configurations
    -0.4.1 tweaked more values
    v0.3 Miami Special
    -0.3.1 Tweaked some values
v0.2 reduced rev limit as suggested by @TMccanna
-v0.2.1 tweaked some values and particulates should be fixed.
v0.1 released on forums and repository

decent mod, but i think it might need a bit more smoke and a lower rev limit

4000 rpm is too high? would 3500 be better?

yeah that sounds about right for a diesel like this, diesels in general dont like to rev too high

For some odd reason, the mod seems to have disappeared entirely from the repo. I have to message car killer about this.

In general head gaskets seem a bit strong, i once overheated this engine by removing the radiator and the head gasket didnt blow for a long while

Lovely mod this one! It opens the window for the old passenger car diesel niche to be filled. And it has decent grunt with the Miami Eco-Turbo!
I also like how this engine sounds very much. You've made the perfect mix between the ETK diesel Inline-6 and the American V8 sounds, with the exhaust on at least (without it, it's not that realistic for a diesel V8 to sound exactly like a gasoline-fed American V8 but still, that's not to say I don't like it, it's just my 2 cents on constructive criticism ;)).

Here's an idea: make the GM 4.3 V6 Diesel for the Bruckell LeGran! The LeGran Wagon SE Campagne will certainly be benefitted by this engine! ;)

A while back someone made a 4.3 Diesel engine for it. I might make a pack of old American diesels if enough people are interested

This pack would be great as we don't have old diesels in BeamNG as of now, with the obvious exceptions of the 3 Gavril engines, the TCM 8.9 Inline-6, the TCX 10.6 Inline-6 and the 6.0 Turbodiesel V8. I'm really interested and I'll also make the beginning by saying this, so that the others follow. ;)

Yep. I am thinking that vehicles like the barstow, burnside, and bluebuck are a little too old for the diesels to fit but I think I will make new diesels for all other american vehicles (except the bus and semi because they already have diesel engines) and the hopper aswell because that is more of a jeep. I may even get intouch with the mod creator of the Blackfoot to use the engines from there and tune and port them to the hopper.

Nope. It is its own thing but it is based on the Oldsmobile diesel.
