Found what I was looking for the day after I posted this. It's funny how people just think that because they can easily understand something, that everyone else can too and stating the obvious? Really? C'mon now, I have over 1000 hours in this game. I even have a map made already. Do you honestly think I haven't looked at the Tube of You? or the Google? I've gone over the wiki too many times. Again, just because you get it, doesn't mean I do too. Now... How the hell do I delete this thread?
There are plenty of great tutorials. If that's not enough, read the wiki and take a look at the files yourself. Even I managed to cobble together a map.
Although some would take this comment as offensive I instead see frustration. You need to understand two things about map making: 1: Learn to commit to memory (and write down), what you learn. Your rant clearly illustrates the inability to commit to making a map. 2: Learn to adapt to the changes being made to this WIP game by the devs. Many have attempted quite admirably to make tutorials only to have them rendered useless whether partially or wholly by a game update. People usually do this ONCE. My personal experience is littered with all sorts of half made and destroyed maps. If the passion to commit isn't there then you will never succeed...period.
the wiki says "Additionally, you should make Windows display ALL file extensions by launching Windows Explorer > clicking the "Organize" drop-down menu in the top left corner > Folder and Search options > View tab > uncheck "Hide extensions for known file types"" How do you do this on windows 10? --- Post updated --- also I can't even do this because i'm missing a steamapps folder in my program files... help me
@gigawert has some very good tutorials on his channel. His videos helped me understand map making fully.
