So for some reason the forum won't let me edit my message because of "inappropriate content"? Anyway, I hope this works. Here's the file for the car, check the reply below to read more about it :)

*Edit 24-1: I've now fixed the file formatting and the default paints! Updated file is down below.

Hi everyone on BeamNG! This is my first time posting on the forum, so I hope I'm doing this thread thing right. I'd like to introduce you all to the

1989 Susbaru Susty (based off the 1989-1995 Subaru Justy)

I've been working on this car in Automation for the past week, trying to get it somewhat close to the real thing.

I currently own a 1993 Subaru Justy 1.0S, and since there are no mods (or even 3D models) for this car, I took it upon myself to create a -somewhat- representable version of it to drive in BeamNG. I have no experience with 3D modelling, so Automation was the best solution to creating anything at all. All of the car's features were recreated as closely as I could, with some obvious corner-cutting where I don't have the skills (or 3D models) to match the real thing.

So far, I've made 3 different versions of the car based off Justy's that were sold in the European market:

Susty S10 S (Recreating the Garnet Nugget)

This is the trim I started with: a recreation of the car I drive almost every day. Featuring a carburated 1.0L 3-cylinder engine with 6 valves, it delivers around 53 horsepower to the front wheels at 6000RPM. With this also being the 3-door version, it's the lightest version of the Susty you can get from the factory at around 870kg including fluids and driver weight. Its engine was already slightly underpowered when new, and compared to modern cars it's comically slow. However, with its low weight, short gearing and relatively well-handling chassis, it's still a fun car to throw around. Just make sure you don't encounter any hills, as you'll have to shift down quite a lot.

Susty S12 GL (Two Tone, Four Doors)

The S12 GL is based off another real Justy. It has a carburated 1.2L 3-cylinder engine with 9 valves, producing around 68 horsepower while redline is again around 6000RPM. It's still front wheel drive which helps with weight saving, as the 2 extra doors and bigger engine add a slight penalty of around 40kg. It also features a rear sway bar, which the S10 doesn't have. The added 15 horsepower are definitely noticeable when at speed, as the car is able to maintain highway speeds much more comfortably. This is also due to its longer final drive ratio, which lowers the revs at 100kph from 3500RPM to around 3000RPM.

In real life, both this and my car have rear spoilers. However, Automation wasn't having a good time adding a spoiler to a hatchback, so I left it as is.

Susty S12 SI 4WD (The Ultimate Performance Machine)
    screenshot_2023-01-19_12-07-42.png
This trim level isn't based off a specific real car, but it's the spec I'd most like to have as a second real Justy. This is the top-of-the-line Susty with a fuel-injected 1.2L 3-cylinder engine with 9 valves that pushes out an eye-watering 76 horsepower, again at 6000RPM. The biggest party piece on this car is the four wheel drive, as it turns this little hatchback into a surprisingly capable and fun off-roader/amateur rally car. Sadly, I couldn't quite recreate the real life counterpart's 4WD system, which locks all wheels together and heavily impacts steering. To fix this, a big red button on the shifter enables and disables rear drive which means that 99% of the time, the car is front wheel drive. I couldn't figure out how to model this in Automation, so the Susty has a regular all wheel drive system you'd find on the likes of an Impreza. That doesn't mean it's any less fun to drive though!

I've done my best to make this mod as extensive as possible for a first version, but there are still some bugs that need fixing and tweaks I'd like to make to make it even better:

    - Interior is non-functional and not very accurate to real life
    - Grille textures have chrome grates instead of plastic
    - Correct colors don't apply to stock configurations
    - Rear lights don't light up extra hard when braking with lights turned on
    - 4WD sticker is too metallic, need to change texture used
    - Mirrors and wipers stick through to interior
    - DRL's won't bind correctly, are currently seen as indicators
    - More accurate spring and damper rates for GL12 and S12 SI
    - Make two-tone more accurate on S12 GL

I'm open to hear about issues you've found and suggestions to make the mod even better!

I hope you enjoy this car and end up loving the Justy/Susty as much as I do. Thanks for giving it a shot :)

Hey all! I finally got the mod submitted as a resource, so it can now be downloaded in-game or from the mods page! This will also make it a lot easier for me to update the mod when I get the time to fix bugs, add features and more. If you want to leave any feedback, feel free to do so here or through the ratings on the mod itself.
Here's the link to the resource page:

    Enjoy!
