I think that an electronic system would be realistic, to add in the game. For example if you turn on the lights the battery drains, or when it’s cold the car wouldn’t start so easily. And when the battery is low it wouldn’t spin the starter motor.
A 12V battery system on the motors for example: the headlights stay on too long then the engine will no longer start
