The idea came from Cyborella (cant seem to link them here), who inititally messed around with vehicle jbeams and tested it soroly. I just made a tool that auto converts the jbeams. This mod is very simple, it just disables each vanilla vehicles Self Collision. If you dont know what Self Collision is: That simply means that your vehicles collide with itself, if for example a bumber falls off, then you can still hit it and this is also true for all kinds of internal parts. Not with this mod tho. Pros - CPU Performance gain can be between 10 and 40 %. My computer runs 8 Cars at 30 to 40 fps. With this Mod about 12 Cars at the same fps. Cons - High Speed Crashes will look odd - Loose parts of your car, will fall through your car (eg. Wendover Gambler) Note Cyborella also reported that in some cars the engines may invert, i have not been able to reproduce it. If you find a vehicle or part that behaves weird, let me know. I can create exceptions for jbeams. If you also want me to make this for a mod, shoot me a dm. This cannot be toggled On or Off via a Option. This mod overwrites game files, thats also why it wont make it onto the Repository. You may also want to use this mod on a Multiplayer Server. Have a nice one o/ edit: dont repack the mod with any compression. I noticed stutter then.
Optimized your mod a bit. I managed to reduce the weight by 100163 times. And now without overwriting files. I hope you don't mind.
This is basically a tamer version of the simplified collision physics option. Maybe it should be an official thing.
I like that it could be done via lua only. And it does definitly has it usecases for those running either a very poor pc, those who need to spawn many vehicles and those who have issues on mp servers. So i agree that a physcis performance option that reduces accuracy, in the main game makes sense
