    Hi everyone,

After spending several days trying to fix this, I finally found a definitive solution to a frustrating problem using Road Architect inside BeamNG.

    The Problem
When using Road Architect to create roads in my custom map (based on Italy), everything looked perfect during editing. I followed every recommendation I could find: smoothing curves, spacing nodes properly, avoiding sharp angles, using terrain under the roads, setting render priority, etc.

But every time I saved and exited the game, then reloaded the map:

    • Many decals appeared distorted, super stretched or broken. Some sink below the terrain.

    • Some nodes were moved or misaligned.

    • Several decals were buried beneath the terrain.

    • In the editor, I noticed multiple duplicate road objects named “Road Architect 1”, “Road Architect 2”… all the way up to the last one I created.
I tried everything mentioned in the forums, Reddit, even adjusted theTerrain and levelInfo properties. Nothing worked.

    The Key Discovery
After carefully checking the logs and object tree, I realized this:

Every time I reloaded the map, Road Architect created a new set of roads with the same default names as before (“Road Architect 1”, “2”, etc.), causing name conflicts and overlaps.

So when I created a new road, it was placed on top of an existing one with the same name, making decals bug out completely.

    ✅ The Solution
Here’s what finally worked for me:

    1. Open the F11 editor.

    2. Select all the existing Road Architect roads (e.g. “Road Architect 1” to “Road Architect 35”).

    3. Move them into a new group (e.g. “Old Roads” or “Existing Roads”).

    4. Save the level.

    5. Then create new roads. They now get added with clean, non-conflicting names.

    6. Save again, exit, reload — and everything stays perfect. No more distortion, no more buried decals, no duplicated objects.
    Final Thoughts
This issue wasted days of my time. I tried terrain conforming, session saving, render vs. edit mode — none of that fixed it. But moving roads into a separate group before adding new ones completely solved the problem.

Hopefully this post saves someone else hours or days of frustration. This duplication bug isn’t documented anywhere clearly, but it’s real — and fixable.

Let me know if this helped you too.
