Beta Priboj 1314 Covered 1.5

Yugoslav muzzle-nosed truck

  1. acerimmer89
    1962-1991 Priboj 1314 (covered)

    Important note:

This car is made almost completely from the 3d fixtures on 4.3m empty 60s American light truck chassis (to match FAP wheelbase in reality). It's not almost perfect, but stylistically it's FAP 1314 look-alike, or so-called "Muzzlenose" because of the its bonnet shape. The truck dates its traces even before the WW2, and was most widespread medium truck in former Yugoslavia.

    Important fixes and changes
    • The colour is changed to more conventional Yugoslavia Light Yellow, common on most state-owned trucks
    • The drivability is increased from 37.1 to 39.1
    • Fuel economy is decreased from 22.1 to 21 L/100 km
    • The springs are heavier now
    • The dampers are heavier now
    • BeamNG cam is added and proper positioned
    • The truck now sounds as powerful 5.3L inliner-6 vehicle
    • Various little improvisations and detailing on the truck
    • The license plates on front were too wonky so they're now under the windshield, like on some trucks here in reality of the 70s and 80s.
    • The tray is full of useless rubbish and junk just for fun.
    The story:
PFK (Priboj Factory of trucks) was state-owned Yugoslavian maker, specifically created for making heavy-duty and durable trucks. Trucks were mostly recognizable by their vintage, late 1930s or early 1940s design and first models were licensed Austrian 1950s ones. (Sauer in reality)
The line 13/1314 was powered by 5.3L inliner-6 engine which was heavy and durable, so the truck was used in many roles...as the garbage truck, firetruck, covered truck, kipper and of course the standard 3.5 t military truck. Many of the trucks were roaming in the Croatian and Serbian streets until the mid 2000s in various roles.
It was produced from 1962 to the 1993 (?) in almost unchangable, vintage and outdated design and mechanics. Owing to its bonnet, it was called "The Muzzle" or "The Muzzlenose". Truck was outdated even in the late 1970s, so the PFK produced Gassler-based boxy trucks from 1978 onwards.
