=====ALL NEW! V3.1 IS OUT NOW!===== Be sure to check the 'Updates' page on the BeamNG.drive website for more information!

Named after, and inspired by, the late legend Yoshihiko Matsuo, the man behind the original Z car, MTA's second generation of their lightweight sports coupe (released in 2012) is designed to compete with cars like the Toyota GT86 and the Lotus Evora.

Powered by a 2.5-litre, naturally aspirated, 5-cylinder inline engine, the Matsuo produces 258 horsepower at 8,100 RPM and 186 lbs/ft of torque at 6,400 RPM. This unique engine is more compact for better weight distribution than a 6-cylinder powerplant, and makes a fantastic sound.

The 6-speed manual transmission from an NC MX-5 is used rather than the Tremec-designed unit from its big brother, the Namazu, for a longer throw and smoother shift. With this transmission and plenty of power, the Matsuo boasts a 0-60 time of just 4.9 seconds.

With all body panels, and the chassis, made entirely from aluminium, weight is kept down to a mere 1,096 kilograms. Another surprising feature is the carbon ceramic brakes, which are lighter and more resistant to heat than ordinary disk brakes.

The MTA Matsuo is the driver's car to choose if you want something that is involving and rewarding, with excellent handling and a very competitive price - buy one of the greatest sports cars ever for just £50,000!
