It's 2006. Lester was looking to broaden its horizons. It isn't new to acquiring new businesses, after purchasing Vignale in 1987 for around £150 million. Initially, Lester was focused on buying an American company named Block for their new line of premium SUVs, and even got as far as to negotiate a price. However, Lester's researchers stumbled upon an economically unstable company called Maverick. It was a risky maneuver as Block was already successful, rather than saving a dying company. However, All of Block's offices and factories are based in Detroit, Michigan. Maverick was positioned in Hammersmith, London, much closer to the central London headquarters of Lester. Lester intended to take on Range-Rover in the premium SUV market. Although the first car, the Maverick Pioneer, was more designed to take on Ford in the US market, making the Enforcer two years later to take on the United Kingdom SUV market.
