The Malpensa Novan (which doesn't mean its not a Van, its a combination of Nova as in new and Van and some idiot didn't check how other languages could read it) was a Van made by Malpensa from 1992 until 2002 with varying success.
Malpensa offered a range of engines, the three popular diesel engines are not included since automation doesn't feature diesel engines...

The base model had a 1.4l Boxer4, straight out of Malpensas compact Chiara, with zero changes. The engine has a good, flat torque curve, just a really low one. The solution (low gearing) isn't that great either but as a cheap gas version, its certainly okay. The V+ system (which isn't Vtech, cause thats a honda thing of course and i would never coppy things lol) doesn't help too much either.

The Box version was mostly equipped with the diesel engines, the Combi versions had a 50% split in many markets (in italy nobody got a gas version obviously). A popular choice for a higher trimmed family car was the 2.1 BX, a 2.1l Boxer 4, also with a V+ system, that made about 150hp and had more torque. The trim in this example is the second highest, except for the club version, but taht wasn't a regular trim to order.

The Novan has two rare special versions: One is the 2.0 TB, a biturbocharged 2.0l engine, that was improved in any way and started as the engineers passion project. It features the AWD system that you coul've got in other variants too as standard as well as a lot of sport trim and redone suspension and body work stuff but still feels like a Novan. With 280hp and a mountain of torque. It wasn't really sold in alrge numbers, not every dealer had it, not everyone could buy it, it wasn't always avaiable as Malpensa had an on/off relationship with the thiung and abandoned it frequently when lots of ordewrs for cargo versions came in and then reintroduced it when the shop wasn't busy, as it was more hand-made than the other variants, since the bodyshell is slightly modified. Also... it has more topspeed than a 500E at that time. It accelerates slower, but has a gear more... imagining this on the Autobahn in the mid 90s^^

The other rare version, cause only Malpensa employees, business or VIP customers could order it, is the Club.
It was offered as a luxurious trim option, with the 2.1BX engine or the 2.9LE out of the large Malpensa 600 sedan.
The 2.9 is a Boxer 6 that sounds like a Porsche engine, is slower than it feels but pulls nicely. And also doubles the fuel consumption compared to a 2.1BX, despite having only 40hp more. The club was only offered as an Automatic. Also: the engine sounds like a Porsche, but was chosen because of torque. Dont rev it high, pet the accelerator and it will smoothly push the Novan towards your destination. It also has the power to... savely enter traffic on a highway, if needed. Its not meants to be driven fast though.
