Back in the 70's Jaguar had an issue, due to the companies reputation for electrical issues and other problems they were having a harder time moving Jaguar vehicles in other countries. With this problem they reached out to Lazuli Motors who accepted to produce the E Type for other markets with a few conditions. From this partnership the Puma was born.
The Puma was built within Lazuli Motors factories with bodies imported from Jaguar. The series 3 E Type had a few visual changes from the original Series 1 that the main designer from Lazuli Motors refused to even look at, this led to the 1971 Puma using original series 1 bumpers and headlights but with a slightly modified series 3 V12 engine.

Due to expensive process that Lazuli Motors insisted on, meant that Lazuli Motors made very little profit per vehicle with Jaguar making almost nothing.

The fact that the Lazuli Motors Puma was more common in most countries led to it receiving a reputation as a poor mans E Type, but the cheaper price and higher reliability have cemented the Puma as a Cult classic.
