The Atom was a Showcar where designers showed what they thought cars in the year 2000 look like. Also, the mechanics imaged it to be jet engined. You can now drive this beast at your own risk as it can drive, really fast, but has a terrible habdling as it was designed to just be driven from a trailer to the showroom and couple days later back.
The engine has the power that theoretically the jet engines should have had if they were real.
