Lore: The Cov-X was added to the Ibishu lineup of vehicles in the mid 1990's (specifically 1996) to compete in the new and quickly growing crossover segment of vehicles, but it was also a replacement for the discontinued Covet. The original Ibishu Covet was discontinued in 1991 due to Ibishu needing to eliminate certain underperforming models because of financial issues at the time. The Covet was greatly missed and had a cult following of fans who loved its affordability and sportiness, so Ibishu decided to revive it (somewhat) and introduced the new Cov-X. To make the Cov-X as cheap as possible in order to appeal to the same crowd, Ibishu fitted many parts from the original Covet onto their new crossover. The quirky compact off roader was a success, and it was maintained by Ibishu until their bankruptcy in 2001.

Inspirations: Toyota Rav4 (1st Gen), Isuzu VehiCROSS, new Bronco and Defender (oddly enough)
