In 1989, Ibishu wanted to increase their effort in Group A Touring car racing. Previous machines like Covet and Pessima had already showed their strength, but ultimately they are just Privateer efforts competing in lower divisions, unable to match the dominant ETK 2400ti Evo in the World Championship. The Japanese manufacturer knew that, they had to come up with the best machinery equivalent to their German competitor: High output Turbo-6, widebody, aero kits, and a four-wheel-drive system.
Ibishu's new sports car, Diana, was undoubtedly the best carrier of the project. The lightweight, streamlined designed 2-door four seater was by all means better than ETK's saloon basis, but the 2-litre 4 cylinder wasn't going to meet the output requirement that German achieved. So, Ibishu Motorsport Division, which was on development of a Group C Prototype, took over the project of building an ultimate Diana, to challenge the ETK machine.
The engineers from "Skunk Works" brought over the C-series straight six engine from higher-end models like the Claria, tucked it into Diana's engine bay, fitted the motor with newly-developed Twin Cam 24 Valve cylinder head, double parallelled turbocharger, paired with racing -spec radiator and six individual throttle body, giving the 2.6 litre engine a stunning output. On a production car, the number was limited at 280, but a Group A racer could achieve astronomical horsepower that nobody knows. Four wheel drive system assisted with active torque control made the car handled unlike any of the other Touring cars. Also, faster than all of them. It retained most of the body panels from a Diana Gtz, but utilized widened fenders to fit in larger tires that Group A car needed, and new bumpers for new radiator and brake ducts.
The race-ready Diana was named GTz-R, paying homage to the once-dominant Claria and Miramar racers in domestic series. In early 1990, the GTz-R debuted, quickly gained its status by beating all the foreign effort by miles. Soon, after all these private teams switched to GTz-Rs, these car won every single Group A races in Japan, until the regulation was scrapped. The GTz-R also sent shockwaves in foreign countries, not only winning races on track, but also setting numerous production car records. It became a cult icon all over the world, establishing its legends. Ibishu initially planned to produce 2500 units of Diana GTz-R to meet the homologation requirement, but in the end, more than ten times that number of GTz-Rs rolled off the production line, playing its stories around the world.

Hecate part:
in 1990,with the successful of the diana, Ibishu devided to develop a 4-door sedan in bx-series platform to increase its popularity as a younth leadership,following the name of Diana ,Ibishu named the sedan version as hecate, which is equipped with both 2.5 &2.6 liter engine.
