Do you like big SUVs that burn holes in your wallet at the fuel pump, take up double the average parking space, bully every unsuspecting Pessima driver on the interstate, all while you blast your favorite 80s rock song at max. volume and chug down your 69th bottle of beer?
Well yippee-kai-yay motherf*cker, do I have the SUV for you!



2002-07 Hummer H2

The Hummer H2 is a large SUV that was marketed by Hummer and built in the AM General facility under contract from General Motors from 2002 until 2009. It is based on a modified GMT820 GM three-quarter-ton pickup truck in the front and a half-ton 1500 frame in the rear. Standard features include air conditioning with tri-zone climate controls, tilt leather-wrapped steering wheel with radio controls, cruise control, leather upholstery, heated front and rear seats, 8-way power front seats, dual memory system, BOSE premium sound system, single-CD/cassette player and later in 2004, a 6-disc CD changer, then in 2008, a single CD-player with MP3 capability, an auxiliary input jack and DVD player, outside-temperature indicator, compass, rear radio controls, independent front torsion bar suspension, rear 5-link coil spring suspension specially created for the H2, oversized tires with HUMMER wheels, universal garage door opener and remote engine start (2008–2009).




However, the H2's release couldn't have been worse. Just a year after the horrific events of 9/11, consumers associated the Hummer's burgeoning fuel economy and its crass exterior, to that of Middle Eastern stereotypes, and didn't perform well sales-wise. Not to mention the claustrophobic interior (woe be to those chose grey), underwhelming V8s (we're talking a 0-60 mph time of just over 10 seconds) and the fact that the word "Hummer" is actually a form of derogatory slang, and its no surprise that only a 150,000 of these gas-guzzlers were sold over a seven-year period.

Having spent a good four hours tweaking and adjusting all the finicky fixtures (no thanks to Automation and its its buggy alignment issues), I initially considered recreating an iconic meme from "Family Guy" over in BeamNG.drive for a YouTube shitpost, but never really got around to doing it. ​

Brian: "Look at all these Hummers.. what kind of jerk would drive one of those?"
Hummer Guy: "Dude, this car kicks ass! And I can even watch Madagascar while I'm driving!"
Alex: "So what kind of music do you like Gloria?"
Gloria: "Hippo hop. Woo!" *dances*
Hummer Guy: "Hahahaha! Those animals are so f*cking funny they make me wanna merge without looking!"
*proceeds to turn into a Mercedes-Benz, which proceeds to crash into an oil tanker and explodes*
Hummer Guy: "Yeah, Rumsfield!"
