Hey guys, welcome to Part 1 of the ReDux of my 3rd-ever mod release;
Leaf-Sprung Axles for the Hopper
'nuff said.™ (Thanks Sithhy™)
It adds leaf springs to the hopper... what more do you want from me?!

(These Boiz are now included as configs too, they were previously just images for illustrations' sake)
This mod consists of the vanilla Pickup leaf springs "Frankensteined" onto the vanilla Hopper axles. As such, all vanilla hopper axle-attachments work as intended.
(Vanilla swaybars, vanilla shocks, vanilla steering, vanilla trackbars added as selectable parts)

Rear:

Like the Hopper axles, it can also be used just as well without any attachments; Front:

Here's a Jbeam pic to prove the leaf springs are properly Jbeam'd.

(Hard to tell anything, but you get the point)
This mod also adds a side-exit "Short Exhaust" to avoid interference with the rear leaf shackles;
(It IS properly Jbeam'd and the smoke exits where it ought to)
The problem:

The solution: You would not believe how annoying it was to un-break the textures.
![]()
It is unequipped by-default as I didn't want to force vehicles to equip it whenever you change engines. It's easy enough to equip manually: Oops you can see my "Pitch" app in the background...

Now onto some bugs and issues...
- The soft-top makes the rear springs collapse.(@jimmyking has made a soft-top which fixes this issue, download it here if you care that much lol https://www.beamng.com/resources/hopper-leaf-springs.19398/)
- The springs are actually unbreakable as I didn't carry-over the "breakgroups". (YET)
- The driveshafts will sometimes break when they shouldn't.
- The spring meshes themselves look/deform kinda bad, tbh, ngl, smh...
- You will sometimes get bluetooth driveshafts.
- The higher your suspension is, the less it likes torque.
- If you set the suspension TOO high, the swaybars can invert. (this will be adressed with longer endlinks eventually, for now cry about it)
- If you remove the front tackbar you'll get really bad bumpsteer, but that is realistic for old jeeps.
- You'll want to tune your toe regardless of whether or not you use the trackbar, I use "advanced wheels debug" UI app for that.
- If your springs fold you need longer shocks, equip the off-road shocks if your vehicle sits high.
- Sometimes the vanilla steering will stop being tunable, Idk why yet...
- Lastly, the vanilla steering clips through the lifted springs.

Special Thanks to:
BeamNG Devs : Making vanilla assets for me to bend to my will
@Agent_Y : mostly-Fixing the bluetooth driveshaft & the tuning menu variables in 1.0, and generally giving some encouragement/advice
"I've seen all this! What does the ReDux even do?!":
It's primarily just bug/texture fixes and parts-tree optimization FOR NOW.

Shackle length is adjustable now, too...

(Yes, I know it looks bad... I'm working on it)
There is more to come, it's just slow-going.
