Hirochi Sunburst Trail & Field 1.11

BeamNG doesn't have a proper modern SUV yet, this will have to do for now

  1. Ytrewq
The Trail & Field package turns a sporty sedan into a serious offroading machine. However, the Sunburst Trail & Field still possesses the Hirochi DNA and most of Sunburst's virtues.
Trail & Field's suspension has been adapted for offroad use, resulting in increased ground clearance, greater approach, departure, breakover angles and softer ride on uneven terrain (not roads, this car doesn't need them).
Front and rear offroad bumpers provide increased approach and departure
angles. They are also strengthened to withstand ground hits.
Skidplate (specially engineered for the T&F version!) protects your car's drivetrain components.
Locking differentials and Hi-Lo transfercase allow great offroad performance in almost all conditions.
Stylish "Trail & Field" lettering assures that the car is recognisable.
The T&F is offered with naturally aspirated 1.8 and 2.0 petrol engines and 1.9 turbodiesel engine*. The two latter can be equipped with a 6-speed DCT. The standart transmission is a 6-speed manual.
T&F is also available in wagon form**.

In general, the T&F is a great little offroader. It is light because of unibody construction, and has a moderately short wheelbase. Though an unmodified T&F can't beat custom offroad versions of Gavrils and Hopper, it can easily keep up with their factory versions and in some situations (where size and weight matter) it can even beat factory Gavrils. On tarmac, thanks to sophisticated independent suspension and all-wheel drive, T&F handles almost like an usual car. Body roll is nonexistent.

It all started in January this year, when @Peter Beamo advised me to make my Sunburst Premia more offroad capable in his review. When I read it, Impreza Outback popped into my mind and I decided to make a car like it for BeamNG. In a week or two, I started modeling bumpers for it. (Because of my inferior Blender skills back then, the front bumper turned out a total mess so I had to make a new one in autumn). Later, I abandoned my project because of that bumper. After some time, I returned to it, jbeamed the bumpers, made transfercase, diffs, struts and stuff and merrily abandoned it again. In autumn, I returned to it for the second time, remodeled the bumper, worked on jbeam files, created skidplate, lettering etc. In other words, finished it.
You might ask why did not I add black plastic trim like on many crossovers. I answer that I didn't add it on purpose and will never do it, because I absolutely hate it and don't want it on my creation. By the way, Trail & Field is not quite a crossover.

Pretty decent mod, but the front suspension geometry needs a bit of work. The car has some handling issues.

This is atually not bad, gotta say! It does remind me of the older Audi A4 Offroaders, like, higher lift, and plastic parts, skirts, fenders, and bumpers...

Actually, add those in the future!

Re-adding my review. One thing you can also improve is suspension. It's way higher than on real crossovers.

Good mod, but no need to be so hostile in your replies. People will give shit reviews sometimes, but try your best to keep cool. If someone leaves a 1 star review and just says "Shit", don't reply; just report it.
Anyways, aside from that, great work on the mod! It's pretty well done, and overall a pretty good idea.
