Lore: Founded in Japan in the mid-2000s, Hikari Speed 光 was built with a singular mission: to make Hirochis faster. Commonly referred to as simply Hikari, the name — written as 光 — translates to “to shine.” And that’s exactly what your Sunburst will do when equipped with our performance parts.

Background: This project began a month ago, based on the assumption that the new Sunburst would share its engine architecture with the SBR4. That insight allowed me to get a head start on development — giving me time to learn the platform inside and out, and prepare a range of upgrades ready for day one. The concept study yielded great results for the SBR4 but unfortunately the SBR4 and the Sunburst turbo setups are different so it didn't translate 1:1. But it still gave good insight into both cars and resulted in a great boost controller for the sbr4 and more.

Sunburst:

Hikari Speed 光 Bench Unlock ECU for 2.5L RS

• Meant for the stock RS Turbo
• Will eventually have all relevant variables a unlocked ECU with a laptop would have control over
• Increase boost by up to 16PSI over factory wastegate pressure.
• Select-able octane maps to increase torque limit and output
  • 91 Octane, 93 Octane, E85

Hikari 光 Street Turbocharger for 2.5L RS

• Upgraded top mount Inter-cooler, powder-coated Charge pipes, and Carbon-fiber filter housing with high flow panel filter.
  • Enhanced intake sound notably over stock, also includes upgraded BOV.
• Presently This is essentially the stock turbo with full bolt ons.
  • Hikari Speed光 will be hybridizing the stock turbo very soon.
  • Still good for about 400bhp when combined with Hikari Speed Software and E85.
    • Hybrid unit should push to low-mid 400s

Hikari 光 Titanium Exhaust for 2.5L and 2.0L

• Less muffling, more offload gain, deeper tone, and burnt titanium tip
  • currently gains ~15% less than race exhaust
    • (may change this)

Hikari 光 "RedLine" Tail Lights

• Reject modernity, embrace tradition. Hikari RedLine tail lights return the recognizable red hue to the Sunburst tail lights

• Holy hell this thing shifts slow stock right?
• Speeds up shifts by over 5x
• Ports improved and realistic, daily drivable shift logic I developed over several thousand miles in HMT and Arsenic Werks

Stock ECU (Hikari Bench Unlock)

  • Similar variables to Race ECU with added supplemental Wastegate control
    • Add an additional 6–7 PSI to the stock turbos
    • Not recommended for Stage 3 turbos due to instability
  • Utilizes Smart Boost logic to dynamically adapt backPressureCoef, MaxExhaustPower, and frictionCoef to allow stock turbos to handle their maximum capable boost
    • Carefully tuned ratios and in-depth calculations maximize stock turbo performance, a considerably amount of math went into this
  • Push an additional 100bhp+ and 100nm+ on stock hardware
  • Enjoy improved realism to turbo response characteristics
