Lore & Background:
Located in Ilsenburg, Saxony-Anhalt, Germany on the northeastern side of the Harz Mountains, a specialized tuning shop has spent the past 10 years gaining a reputation for producing high quality parts that find themselves on the most finely tuned and powerful ETK vehicles on the road today. Often referred to and stylized as “HMT,” Harzer Mountain Tuning was founded in 2014, shortly after the launch of the current generation ETK 800-Series, and quickly became the leader in performance tuning for both 800-Series and K-Series platforms.
The “Pure,” “Dusk,” and “Eden” packages that HMT has developed over the years represent a dedication to not only power, but to refinement and attract a cult following to ETK owners. Our hardware and software go through real research and development, analyzing both what ETK and the vanilla aftermarket offers and determining where and how we can do better.
In the process we have pioneered proprietary methods and features you will not find anywhere else. We subject every one of our drivetrain-related packages to thorough dyno testing to ensure power band optimization as well as longevity in a high stress environment. From there, we street test, putting thousands of in game miles on the chassis we support and the packages we produce.
Why go to such lengths? Harzer Mountain Tuning is committed to quality, and it is important to us to ensure that our customers make no compromises in their pursuit of performance, which we ensure by meeting or exceeding the quality standards set by ETK themselves, perpetuating their moto of “Distilled Excellence” with our own moto, “Präzision und Leistung”

The Pure Hybrid Turbo Collection:
The goal of the Pure Hybrid Turbo System is to offer a drop in big power package which does not make sacrifices in drivability, and if anything improves driving dynamics. These packages also aim to be non-invasive, installing the core component of these packages, hybridized factory turbochargers, in place of the stock unit.
What is a hybrid turbo?
In our case, its a brand new turbo that utilizes the stock location, design, and size as a template/constraint to walk the line of improved performance and packaging.
All of the Pure Packages consist of the hybrid turbo itself and the ECU which comes loaded with features you will only find with HMT such as:
Now, lets talk about the specific kits for each engine.

- defaults to off upon installion of ECU
- Variable also allows users to turn peak power down if they wish

Our Pure 860 package consists of multiple parts that must be installed together to work correctly.
Since our founding, the Pure 860 has gone through multiple generations of continuous development, improving. Our Pure 860 Turbocharger rebuilds the stock TT-Sport turbochargers from ETK's 4.4L V8 for response, greater efficiency, and top end power.

On an otherwise stock V8 ttsport ETK vehicle, our Pure 860 package provides an output of 860hp and 760lbft (1020nm) reving out past 8000rpm. Our ECU software is able to up the torque limit a bit by supporting the use of higher octane fuel and larger injectors. This allows us to push more torque than vanilla tunes without comprimising the longevity of the factory internals.
Combine the more efficient turbochargers with a bulky intercooler, unrestrictive downpipes, relocated and heat-shielded open element filters, aluminum charge piping and a bit more boost, and you'll enjoy huge gains over what both ETK and the vanilla aftermarket supplies.
*Our ECU and Hybrid Turbochargers must be installed together, failing to install the proper ECU will result in a check engine light and possible damage, as the vanilla ecus are not optimized for the extra flow from the bolt ons and the significantly improved turbochargers*

For the stat nerds like us, this chart above represents the turbine efficiency at a given rpm. You can see the efficiency improvement when comparing our Pure 860 Hybrid turbo in blue, versus the V8s maximum vanilla offering in grey. While hitting peak slightly later, we maintain a consistent ~15% increase in average efficiency over the whole powerband, continue adequate efficiency much higher into the RPM range, and achieve a larger area under the curve .
HMT Pure 790 Hybrid Turbocharger
for 3.0L I6
Our Pure 790 package consists of multiple parts that must be installed together to work correctly and achieve advertised output.

The Pure 790 system was our second flagship project, this time for the 3.0L ttsport I6. The Pure 790 Hybrid Turbocharger system takes the OEM TT-Sport turbocharger for the 3.0L I6 engine and rebuilds its internals for response, smoothness, and greater efficiency. In our research and development we discovered that the maximum offering on the vanilla aftermarket for the 3.0L had very peaky powerband, achieving peak boost and peak HP at the same RPM, leaving a lot of low end torque to be desired. Granted you can only do so much without touching the turbo. While output would be a focus for this kit, responce and usability is what we aimed for with the Pure790, afterall you dont buy a turbocharged i6 for the linear torque curve
On an otherwise stock I6 ttsport ETK vehicle, Our Pure 790 system provides an output of 790hp and 644lbft (887nm) providing power up to 8000rpm. Much like the above Pure860, the torque output of this package is typically considered over-torque on the 3.0L tt-Sport block variant, but not by all that much, so our ECU software is able to up that limit by supporting the use of higher octane fuel. This allows us to run more boost than other tunes without risking damage to the factory internals. Combine that extra boost with more efficient turbochargers, a bulky intercooler, unrestrictive downpipes, and a rerouted heat-wrapped intake system that puts the filter right by the grill for better exposure to cool air, and you'll enjoy solid gains and a much better power band then both ETK and the vanilla aftermarket are able to supply.
For the stat nerds like us, this chart above represents the turbine efficiency at a given rpm. You can see the improvements made when comparing our Pure 790 Hybrid turbo in orange, versus the I6s maximum vanilla offering in grey. Smoothness was the main target here and you can see that while the peak efficiency is lower, the curve stays flatter with peak torque hitting almost 2000rpm sooner and staying flat to redline. Our Pure 790 package offers a powerband that hits sooner, stays smooth, and better maintains efficiency at higher RPM with more area under the curve, resulting simultaneously in more power and improved drivability.
After months of development, HMT is thrilled to announce two new packages for the modern ETK platforms! Introducing the HMT Eden I and Eden II intake packages, for a visceral naturally-aspirated driving experience.
Named after the Garden of Eden, the Eden I and Eden II kits bring the HMT quality and performance you know and love to those who live without forced induction and offer a driving experience that must be felt to truly understand.
With Carbon fiber intake piping, selectable filter colors, a meticulously engineered power band, and intense, vocal, raw intake noise, you'll soon find yourself in paradise. Both Eden packages feature the HMT details/features you have come to expect from us, including raised idle rpm, roar on start, precise afterfire presets, and Shift Light functionality through the gauge clusters turn signal lights.
You may ask, what is the difference between Eden I and Eden II? :

The Stage 1+ ECU software for the 2.0L ETK I4 represents the early beginnings of our I4 Product line. The Vanilla aftermarket already pushes this little engine almost as far as it can go in stock form... almost. Thanks to our proprietary ECU software, we are able to push further than the Vanilla aftermarket by using high ethanol content fuel and reworking the pre-existing SCTE (Software-controlled turbine efficiency). You can see above that the SCTE Mapping still contains a dip at around 2500rpm to pull back low end torque and prevent damage from excess low end torque, but unlike the vanilla stage 1 file, ours doesn't fall off at 5500, but pulls strong up to about 7000rpm. This increase in top end efficiency yields output of 348bhp and 338lbft (458nm) which is a gain of 55hp and 31lbft over vanilla stage 1, impressive gains for software and fueling. Not represented in the above graph is the more predictable temperament. Our Stage 1+ ECU has engineered the turbos response to be less peaky and more friendly in daily driving situations. Like all of our ECU software, turn signal shift light programing is available and on by default.

Does HMT not yet offer a full package for your ETK engine platform of choice? Or do you want more out of the vanilla ecu options? Look no further than the "DS9 Piggyback" by HMT. The DS9 Piggyback module can be installed in the "Speed Limiter Slot" on any vanilla ETK ECU and will intercept and modify signals sent from the ECU to the engine.
DS9 ECU Piggyback:
The DS9 allows users a small bit of configuration and the option for added power with variables for idle RPM, limiter cut time, rev limit RPM, afterfire burble duration, and wastegate pressure up to an additional 4psi. This should hold you over while we develop dedicated high quality packages for each platform!
- Just like real life, a piggyback is no substitute for a real tune, and users must exercise caution when configuring their DS9, especially when stacking the DS9 on top of a vanilla stage tune. As such, the speed limiter slot on all of Harzer Mountain Tuning's ecus has been removed entirely in order to prevent customers/users from messing with our finely tuned, highly optimized software.
- Utilizes smart aggression calculation making it more adaptive to driving style and throttle input. Has more realistic shift points, decreased shift time to 8 thousandths of a second, more intelligent and predictable behavior on partial throttle, and less tendency to hold high rpm after aggressive acceleration, with a greater difference between D and S mode.
- Decreases gear whine
- Well optimized for both V8 and I6
Enhanced Drive Modes:
Various improvements to both stock and tt-Sport drive modes such as:
- No brake light flashing in any of the modes
- More Aggressive controller settings for minimum lock of AWD systems.
- "off" mode now locks at 100% minimum lock. System still disconects front wheels on decel but on throttle it locks to a true 50/50. Can act as an pseudo off-road mode with *almost* full time AWD.
- Removal of default transmission modes except for comfort mode.
- This means you can switch drive modes without the transmission mode changing with it, unless you cycle all the way around to "comfort" in which case it will return to "D"
- Useful if you want to switch from "M" back to "D" without stopping.
- Adds Wastegate offset to "TTsport+", "Drift", and "Off" modes. Pre-0.28 ttsport+ mode added 2 psi of boost to the turbochargers wastegate preset, but for some reason in the most recent update we didn't get this, so I added it back!
- Played with settings of exhaust valves and in what modes (and how much) they open up. Sport mode for the stock drive modes and ttsport mode for ttsport modes are most affected.
- Features Constant Gauge Cluster Illumination
- Gauge cluster illumination now tied to ignition state, if the ignition is on accessory or higher, the cluster is now backlit
- This means no need to turn the headlights on to see the gauge cluster clearly in interior view.
HMT Titanium Exhaust
- 3 inch titanium straight pipe with pie cuts, leading to two DREID titanium valved mufflers
- Available for both V8 and I6 in ETK800 and ETK-K
- Saves 25lbs on V8 and 16lbs on I6
- Gains 25hp on V8 and 15hp on I6
- compared to vanilla tt sport exhaust systems
- Unique and highly optimized tone for both V8 and I6
- spent many hours on each, using cruise control, DSCs hub dynos, and my set of Sennheisers attached to DAC/AMP to get the sound right at every RPM.
- Makes better use of the native active exhaust valves
- (straight pipe bypasses these)
- Also features HMT Signature exhaust tips in Silver, Black, and Burnt Titanium!
Straight Pipe Exhaust:
- Modeled Straight pipe exhaust available on V8 and I6.
- Both include a very raw sound.
- Removal of all restrictions yields gains of up to ~30bhp
- bypasses exhaust valve settings within the drive modes
HMT Radiator
- Aluminum model with functioning fan
- Improved cooling performance to help with added power and heat of our setups
Misc Aesthetic Parts:HMT also offers a handful of factory option add-ons and visual modifications to truly set your vehicle apart:
USDM Fenders (Both wide and standard):
- Removes fender turn signal as its not required by the US DOT. Provides a sleeker and cleaner look too.
Tailgate with wiper delete:
Black Mirrors:
- Like it says above, deletes the rear wiper on the tailgate for a sleeker look.
Black Badges:
- Simple mod adds black version of mirrors to ETK800 for more customization.
- Black Version of all badges for ETK800 and ETK-K.
- Also adds "848" and "858" badges to ETK800 that were buried in the game files.
Highly recommend my Vanilla+ Wheel Pack, which features silver recolored and resized versions of the DREID C70 wheel and FOLK ET73 wheels. Recent update includes sizes and fitments for modern ETKs (19x9 and 19x10) with wider sizes to come. Clear cache if you get texture issues with this mod.
