D-Series Diesel engine pack - Reviews | BeamNG try out this mod if you want even more of this!

This mod adds a 6.2 Diesel inspired by the Detroit 6.2.

This engine was originally offered from 1979-1989 as a fuel economy option before being replaced by the 6.0. These engines make little power but get much better mileage compared to the big blocks.

NEW: Gavril 6.5, bored and stroked 6.2 with a factory turbo in most configurations, sold from 1989 till 2000
    upload_2023-7-20_10-28-10.png

NEW: Gavril 6.9, a stroked 6.2 with high amounts of torque and reliability, trading off efficiency for power, sold from 1980-1988
    upload_2023-7-20_10-29-26.png

NEW: Gavril 7.3, bored out 6.9 with even higher torque but minor reliability issues, sold from 1988-1995, last few models were sold with an early 6 psi turbo

    Turbo Curve:
    upload_2023-7-20_10-31-56.png

NEW: Bruckell 378 diesel from moonhawk, sold from 1978-1980

NEW: Gavril 8.2, a heavily bored and stroked 6.2, mainly designed for generator and marine usage, this engine was sold from 1981-1993 and was ultimately a failure due to thin cylinder walls and reliability issues, this was also the first diesel engine from Gavril to be turbocharged (1987-1993 only)
    82curve.png

NEW: 3.9 i6 licensed from ibishu, sold 1976-1978 and gavrils first experience with diesels, saw little use and only available in d15 and lower
    upload_2023-7-20_10-34-41.png

NEW: 12/20 speed gearboxes based off t series gearbox and the mack quadraplex, also includes a shifter that somewhat works (i couldnt simulate a twinstick gearbox so instead after shifting into 6th gear the gearbox simply goes back to first and repeats over and over

    NEW: T series turbo swaps

    NEW: 6.5 diesel

NEW: Factory Turbo offered from 1989-2000 on the 6.5 and from 1987-1993 on the 8.2

    NEW: Adjustable injectors!

    NEW: 7.3 6.9 diesels

    NEW: 3.8 i6 diesel

For some reason v6 diesel files seem lost?

NEW: 5 speed auto 4+ultra low gear auto 20 and 12 speed manuals with matching shifters

NEW: low gear 5 speed manuals with shifters

NEW: diesel torque converters and simplified converters with no lockup

NA intake still has a turbo model because any other model floats and removes the exhaust+seems to break thermals if i dont use the turbo model for some reason (WTF?)

*7.3/6.9 engines use same ecu as 8.2

I really like this mod, its heaps fun, and the sounds are really nice. One thing though, is there any way to improve the reliability of the 8.2L? Its a heaps fun engine, I get that its meant to be unrealiable, but can i make it reliable?

adding a heavy duty block should work, really i should probably edit this mod as i think i mightve stumpled upon a few bugs and some other things like wrong torque figures aswell tbh

Yippee mod but for some reason the engines take a really long time to start

i purposefully made them that way since theyre ancient diesels and stuff, in hindsight that was kind of a dumb idea

Good mod has zero problems, is fun to play with and I like the idea of 8.2 blowing the head gasket when cylinder walls get to ~100* and the whole LORE you created around the engines with dates, etc.

Nice to have more diesel options. All your turbo diesels need more torque though and some need more HP. For example if you 6.5 td is supposed to be similar to gm6.6td then it should be making around 290hp and at least 500lb/ft. 300hp and 520lb/ft was gms big claim back in 2001 about their TD 3500's.

these are based off more retro diesels, 6.5 and 6.2 are actually based off old detroits
