Great mod, I personally own most of the engines on this mod and they seem pretty good, you just have to find the gearing ratio of your certain vehicle and it seems to work pretty good, i do have a couple of suggestions though, maybe the 4.6 DOHC Intech V8? Also I own a 7.3 IDI Non turbo with a stack if you would like to make that into a sound, also a 5.0 straight pipe and a 4.6 DOHC with mufflers cut off if you wanted to put that into the game out of a Lincoln MK VIII

I’ve owned most too! That’s what inspired me. And I was actually thinking about making a dohc model of the ingame modular v8 but I’m a noob with modeling (can do basic stuff with existing models) but it’s a great suggestion. And also the SOHC 4.6 has different/louder and more realistic sounds compared to the others, that was a test to see if y’all like it and if so I’d add it to all the engines. And I actually was just thinking this morning about stacks for the engines, I’m working on making a hood/bed stack for a friend so I’ll use that.

These engines are great, you should add some of them to other cars, like a v6 in the 200bx, or a different one in the pessima. It would add more variety, but its just a suggestion.

All of these engines are based off engines that were in ford trucks in the 80s, 90s and early 2000s but I’m that guy that will swap any fucking engine into any car :D

Good mod, love the D-series engines, and the big variety of them, would be nice if you could port a few of them to the Roamer (Ford Explorer)

For v0.20 and higher, the engines are available on both the D-series and Roamer. Also I thought it was based off the Expedition tbh.

Edit / reply / basically boosting the rating lmao

Yes low makes the tranny considered "6 speed" since its a forward moving gear, but do not make it first gear please lol. I never have it in that unless I need a little extra oomf towing or hauling extra heavy things. The Zf-6 is really a 5 speed, with a very high last drive gear for interstate driving.
For the "low" gear, first gear in low range for your mod is perfect.
The Low gear was just something nice they added so you wouldn't have to drop it into low, it has a ton of torque and top speed of 7-9 mph screaming.
and I'll be sure to check out his mod, would love a great diesel sound mod

Ok. Tried The V6 Today And It Is Much Better. For Starters, The Tuned Intake Adds A Lot Of Power. The Stage 3 Performance Long Block Actually Reduces Power. I'm Willing To Help Test If You Like. Just Let Me Know.

ZF-6 Ratios (in i think most if not all 99-03 manual 7.3 fords)

    Low 5.79:1
    First 3.30:1
    Second 2.10:1
    Third 1.31:1
    Fourth 1.00:1
    Overdrive 0.72:1
    Reverse 5.23:1

Like I said you've got it very accurate, maybe I'm wrong about my 4th gear though. It feels way more powerful irl (especially 3rd, I'm powering and continuing to climb rpm (even shifting mid slope) on 20 or so deg slopes (but maybe thats just bc im driving it manually instead of with a controller ha).

    https://youtu.be/VFwMcbyV-eA
For example, I'd be screaming up that hill, especially if my engine reaches over 40 in 3rd, i definitely wouldnt lose RPM at 43 in 3rd

Probably some of my confusion is from how much louder and higher sounding my truck is compared to the lame default diesel sound in game (3000 in game is barely 1900 sounding irl).
Great mod though for sure, it was fun re creating my truck! Just wish someone would take the time to create a great powerstroke sound mod, or any good sounding diesel mod :(

I'm pushing an update rn with a ton of tranny stuff, for the ZF-S560 first gear is low making it a 6-speed (since i cant add a low gear), btw there's this really cool guy MNP, he has a really realistic diesel sound mod.

I love this mod! Also since you said you'll make a Chevy engine mod could include the 90's Caprice 5.0 170hp and 5.7 180hp engines? Maybe the LT1 too? Would fit great with the Gavril Marshal imo. Anyway great job on the Ford engines and I'm looking forward to future updates!

Thank you I’m glad! And yes that includes every engine from the impala/caprice and the pickups and maybe even the Bluebuck since it’s based off an impala :)

Can't believe how accurate this was to my 7.3 diesel, almost spot on. I do wish I could edit the gearing though, because comparing to my manual diesel, 1st does not accelerate *that* fast (not even including the engaging clutch time), and 4th is definitely way to small of a gear compared to 3rd, im screaming rpm's at 65 irl (and accelerating faster than the in-game representation through 4th).
Other than that, this is the most realistic engine I've played with by far. It was really fun recreating my 99' 7.3 powerstroke, too bad there arent any good diesel truck sound mods aside from the T-series. My truck is almost complete !

I’m glad it’s accurate! That’s exactly what I was trynna do with this mod! Also what transmission do you have? I’ll add it in the next update with accurate gearing.
