This map is based on a 1m LIDAR Digital Terrain Model of National Road 28 and the area around it between Tyrawa Wołoska and Wujskie in Podkarpackie, Poland.
The map is based on the state of things from 2022 to 2024, as I visited this place during that time period, and most references were based on street view and my recordings.
It features a 7 km long fragment of the mentioned National Road.
Originally, this map started as a new world editor tools testing playground; however, after some time, it evolved to a slightly more polished project. I plan on using this map as a base for future similar and more polished maps focused on mountain roads in Poland.
Due to technical limitations, I wasn't able to include a bigger countryside area that is blocked off in the map. This is due to my messing up the heightmap colorspace, leading to unrealistic height differences in that area, which would require remaking this map from scratch. I decided it's better to release it in its current state rather than scrap it.
