Picture this. You're at the track. It's warm, sunny. It's dry. Perfect time for some racing fun. So you line up. Foot on the accelerator, ready to go. But then you see something in your mirror. It roars like a beast. It doesn't quite look like anything you've seen before. Not in a cheap way, either. We mean it, this does not look like anything you've seen before. Its edges are jagged, and not in an 80s way, either. It looks like someone tried to put a multirole fighter jet on four wheels and piss off car designers the world over, simultaneously. Its eyes are sextuple like that of a spider, its fenders razor sharp. So then, what lurks in the depth of the darkness inside of the enormous air intake?
Checker, a small Australian track car company, began with a V6. Not a particularly powerful one either, a screeching 1.1-liter thing. They managed to push out 160 horsepowers from it. Impressive, but that could only take their rudimentary track toy so far. 250 kilometers per hour to be exact. That was okay though, it didn't require a high top speed around the track. But, they could do better. And so, here we are. With a 3 liter, 473 horsepower roaring, 0-60 in 3 seconds pushing, V8.
As soon as you're finished awkwardly getting seated inside of the cramped, and very spartan interior, you'll come to a realization, as soon as you push on that accelerator. You're seated behind no beast. You're wielding control over a monster out of this world.
