To make up for the decreasing demands in airplane engines after WWll, the Cross Company decided to launch in 1946 the C1 starter edition to test the feasibility of investing in automotive market.
For the engine, CC made his smallest engine yet: the M1V16 areo. This engine is a 10L v16 making 386hp and 607 lb-ft of torque.
