Beta [Burnout] Sports Coupe 624 GT 1.66

Less fluff, more speed. No frills sportscar

Goal: Create a fun, semi-realistic driving experience of a RR coupe, without traction/ESC. Car gives you the feeling that your driving is needing improving, rather than the car. Evolution 2.

    Brochure Detail
Forget the purists and their low-powered porsche pursuits. You wanted a sports spec. You got it. You also got 6 gears, but you won't be hitting that 300kmh top speed anytime soon. You'll run out of power before you run out of gear!

But times have changed. And so we have. 39:61 weight bias, RR layout, 1590kg. Make no mistake this is a difficult layout, we also came to the realization the same DB7 V12 from MK1...simply too heavy. We tried so hard. Revision after revision. We had second thoughts. So much that we've completely replaced it with a much lighter, better balanced Boxer 6 and brought the Weight bias to a nice 43:57 and overall weight down to 1250kg

Upgraded tyres to Medium compound and front tyre width from 195 rounded to 200. Those Hards were too slidey and oversteer was fatal. It's never a smooth road with Rear-engined layouts, but we're committed! Fresh alloys. Frontward brake bias. Tossed the Electric LSD for a Viscous one. The updates are numerous and more cohesive package than Mk1. We fired that director too, too many crashes from godawful oversteer. Further, We've tamed the Roll bars a bit, our mistake. Coupled with Beefier spring rates and a new balance. The whole suspension has been reworked. The new platform is delightful.
Bumped up internals from the measly 250hpv12 to a tight 2.4L Boxer 6 pushing out 280hp, scrapped the headers for Long Tubular, now you'll feel it roar. ECU has been tuned up to 7800rpm, what music!

This is straying out of Burnout territory and more into fanfiction land. But it needed to be done. To finish her off, we've given the bodywork a nice deep gloss "Belle Green" coat of paint.

(dunsfield)Top Gear Test Track time In BeamNG: 1:30 (faster than a Lotus Esprit V8)
old version: Automation TGTT time: 1:29 (needs updating)

    Notes:
    • For an RR, you'll be delighted to know that this one understeers long before it oversteers. Making a true oversteer before understeer RR car (akin to an 80s porsche) was simply impossible with the limitations of my stock tyre widths and drivetrain, and the car would be proper undrivable in BeamNG's physics, akin to Mk1 oversteer, so after MANY attempts, decided we couldn't go through with that torture any longer. Over 16 variants were made to get here.
    • I've left in most of the body roll: 1. It has more grip 2. gives you that nice drift when you give it a lil Scandanavian flick at speed. You feel like a boss, it just works. 3. As a visual driving aid, you feel what the car does more, which is critical information to have in a rear engined car.
    • Visually there aren't all that many changes from Mk1, but make no mistake this is more like a completely different car than a variant. Everything especially from the suspension, engine, drivetrain has been replaced and reconfigured from the ground up. But you will still run out of power long before you run out of gear!

Early Acess Beta tester Consumer Reports, leaked from Burnout HQ:
We get it, you're excited for Europe's one and only answer to the Supra. You must understand If you can't left foot brake, then you shouldn't have a licence, and should bathe in dirty laundry. No we can't possibly cram more engineering at this price point. Trust me, you couldn't afford it.

Wheelspin in 2nd is a feature, as is the brake-downshift dance. We've gotten huge compliments on it. We're not sacrificing sportiness for economy this time around. Try your mum's minivan.

No, I'm sorry sir, we simply do not have the budget to implement another Electric LSD to comply with harsher state regulations. We're tied up and waiting on our lawyers, they believe it may have played a big part in damages.
