During the Bruckell LeGran presentation in late 1983, there was a version that went mostly unnoticed, as it wasn't intended for the general public. Said version was the LeGran Fleet, a barebones, no-frills model intended for big fleets. Curiosly enough, while this version was barely featured in brochures, general consumers could buy one under a special order.

If the Regulier was the base version, the Fleet is a level below that. The radio was deleted, and the A/C unit replaced by a simpler heat/vent unit. The passenger side mirror was omitted, as were the hubcaps, while the only paintjobs available were White and Primer Gray.

Fleet models were equipped with a 2.2 liter I4 engine, mated to a 4-speed manual gearbox, or a 2.5 liter I4, mated to a 3-speed automatic transmission.

For the 1989 MY, equipment was improved by adding a driver-side airbag, ABS and a passenger side mirror, while the Wagon also got a Fleet version.

While it might be too barebones, the cheaper, no-frills LeGran Fleet proved to be a strong seller, often being among the top 3 best selling fleet cars.

In 1987, Bruckell introduced the 3.3 liter V6 for the LeGran Luxe, as well as two new paintjobs: Light Rosewood, Light Sage Metallic and Navy Blue Metallic.

At the same time, a new limited edition was launched, the Luxe Royale. This edition added a brown and tan interior with wood grain trim, Royale badging, and exclusive two-tone paintjobs (Royal Green, Deep Plum or the newly introduced Navy Blue Metallic in combination with Dust Mica Metallic), with a matching Landau top for the sedan. Wagon models came without wood side panels, in contrast with the Luxe Grandiose.

Power steering was standard in the V6 models, while the 2.5 liter I4 models could have it as an optional extra. V6 models also had better brake pads, improving the braking feel. All three engines where mated to a 4-speed automatic transmission.

While initially the car was offered only for the 1987 model year, better than expected sales meant Bruckell decided to relaunch it for the 1988 MY, but same as the normal Luxe, it was discontinued once the facelifted 1989 MY was launched.

Introduced in 1987, the Sportcharger was Bruckell's answer to the newly introduced Touring category in the AARC (All-American Racing Championship), which only allowed mid-size saloons or hatchbacks with 4-cylinder engines of up to 2.8 liters. Aspiration was free, but supercharged or turbocharged cars had a weight penalty. This wasn't much of an issue for the LeGran, which wasn't a lightweight car, so Bruckell engineers initiated the development of a heavily modified 2.5 inline-4 engine, paired with a big supercharger.

The result? A small beast, unleashing 189 HP and 229 Lb/Ft to the front wheels through a modified 5-speed manual gearbox with closer ratios. An upgraded exhaust system made for a better sound, too. Handling improvements came in the shape of a better LSD (taken from the recently introduced Soliad Wendover Sport), firmer suspension, a bigger front sway bar, fatter low profile sport tires (205/60-R15) and bigger brakes, with fixed, 4-piston calipers at the front. The package was completed with deep, chromed Alder Royale Deep, wide fender flares and bumpers, front and side skirts and a bigger rear spoiler. The interior was also modified, featuring a black and red color combination and sportier front seats. Curiosly enough, the only exterior paintjob available was Black, as Bruckell thought it gave the car a misterious, menacing look.

Just a year later, the Sportcharger S41 package was introduced, aimed to those who wanted an easily modifiable Sportcharger for race usage, or just a cheaper way to get the latest sports saloon from Bruckell. The S41 package was based on the Sport S trim, but featured the simpler, barebones interior of the Fleet (it came without a central console, radio, A/C and driver airbag, but in black instead of grey), 15 inch steelies cladded in 195/65-R15 street tires, simpler Sport spoiler, Sport front swaybar and Sport brakes from the Soliad Wendover (slightly adjusted and with red calipers). The only paintjob available was Charcoal Gray.

At the same time, the Wagon got the Sportcharger treatment, while the Belasco City Police Department was gifted an undercover sedan Sportcharger painted in Navy Blue. This unit was barely used, but it was featured on multiple police shows around the country.

For the 1989 facelift, Bruckell improved the Sportcharger, to make it more competitive with the recently introduced rivals and also adressing some of the weak points, like torque steering or the somewhat soft suspension. Harder springs, better shocks, an even bigger front sway bar and bigger wheels (225/50-R16) improved the handling quite a bit, but that wasn't all, as the engine was further upgraded, now developing 207 HP and 243 Lb/Ft. Rims where also replaced with silver Alder Basketwakes, while the bodykit got some upgrades (lower front skirt with a splitter, reshaped rear fender flares, rear bumper skirt and a small flap for the wing). The exterior colour was changed to Jet Black Metallic, while the S41 package was dropped, as demand was low.

All in all, the Sportcharger wasn't a bad car, getting some wins and multiple podiums in the AARC (but no championships), and gathered a small but healthy community of fans. The model was dropped in 1991, when Bruckell officially left the AARC.

Some of the images were taken with Zeit's graphics settings utils Photo Tool.

    Known issues:
    - UV-mapping may be rough on some of the modifed parts.
    - The Sportcharger spoiler clips slightly in the trunk (the spoiler comes from the Ibishu Pessima Mk1, modified and adapted to the Sportcharger). Also, shading may look a bit weird near the trunk mounts.
    - Front side signals clip slightly in the front wide bumper (modified signals from the Civetta Bolide, adapted to the wide bumpers and rear wide fender flares).

    Non-definitive "To do" list:
    - Race versions.
    - Modifying the gauges for the Sportcharger configs.
    - Fixing any bug that I may've missed.
    - (Maybe) Integrate V.A.D.I.S. (Voice Assisted Driver Information System)
