The Hispanic comes to the US and European market as the alternative version of a well-equipped sedan, with an aerodynamic design and with prospects of being a very versatile car in a market saturated with large vehicles. It measures 4.4 meters long and is one of the candidates for family cars and everyday use for the masses. It was launched in 1985 although its official presentation was in 1984. The Hispanic will begin to be sold in February 1985 and two months later it will begin. its commercialization in Europe through the dealer network of the Spanish brand CEAL
The Hispanic stands out for being a very practical and versatile family vehicle in any environment with a concept of practicality and low cost, it can satisfy most American and European budgets. Its great strength lies inside, where we find a 2.2-liter four-cylinder boxer gasoline engine that produces 115 horsepower with carburetor and 125 with injection. This engine comes from Japanese designs to try to maximize engine efficiency and drastically reduce the consumption of the well-known American V8 or V6.
It comes to the market in three equipment versions and two bodies. The equipment versions cover a fairly basic version called City, the intermediate LE version that already has power steering, central locking, ABS or air conditioning among others. Finally, we will find the most exclusive version called LSE, which will not only stand out for its better internal finishes, but also, for example, with alloy wheels or the most powerful injection engine that reaches 125 horsepower.
The same versions will arrive on the old continent but a 1.9-liter turbocharged and injected CEAL diesel engine with a power of 80 HP will be added. The European versions will first arrive with a five-speed manual gearbox, while its American sister It will be fitted with a four-speed automatic transmission.
The year 85 is a turbulent year, since CEAL (company that owns BlueStar vehicle vision) disintegrates and the activity of Blue start begins to be in danger. Let's hope that the Hispanic BlueStar can represent a good cut in sales and keep the company afloat. in Europe and the United States.
